AbbVie (ABBV) Shares Cross 4% Yield Mark
OH YEAH BABY !!!!

April 11, 2017, 03:07:47 PM EDT By DividendChannel.com, BNK Invest

Dividend Channel , in trading on Tuesday, shares of AbbVie Inc (Symbol: ABBV) were yielding above the 4% mark based on its quarterly dividend (annualized to $2.56), with the stock changing hands as low as $63.32 on the day. Dividends are particularly important for investors to consider, because historically speaking dividends have provided a considerable share of the stock market's total return. To illustrate, suppose for example you purchased shares of the S&P 500 ETF ( SPY ) back on 12/31/1999 - you would have paid $146.88 per share. Fast forward to 12/31/2012 and each share was worth $142.41 on that date, a decrease of $4.67/share over all those years. But now consider that you collected a whopping $25.98 per share in dividends over the same period, for a positive total return of 23.36%. Even with dividends reinvested, that only amounts to an average annual total return of about 1.6%; so by comparison collecting a yield above 4% would appear considerably attractive if that yield is sustainable. AbbVie Inc (Symbol: ABBV) is an S&P 500 company, giving it special status as one of the large-cap companies making up the S&P 500 Index.

In general, dividend amounts are not always predictable and tend to follow the ups and downs of profitability at each company. In the case of AbbVie Inc, looking at the history chart for ABBV below can help in judging whether the most recent dividend is likely to continue, and in turn whether it is a reasonable expectation to expect a 4% annual yield.

According to the ETF Finder at ETF Channel, ABBV makes up 9.76% of the First Trust US Equity Opportunities ETF (Symbol: FPX) which is trading lower by about 0.3% on the day Tuesday.

patients bankrupted? Patently untrue. Unless you are not a medicaid recipient, a Medicare low income subsidy patient or about 90% of commercially insured patients. your out of pocket is $5 thanks to Abbvie.

Despite what insurance companies try to do to rip off their members with high out of pockets and deductibles, Abbvie is the ultimate backstop that assures you pay no more than $5. If you receive low income subsidies as a Part D member, your OOP is capped under $8.20 in 2017 and has been lower in previous years.

To be able to walk again and have normal function for less than $100 a year seems like a good deal.

Would it be unethical/illegal for someone in your profession to start a forum under false guise on web and then gather inside employee information from specific company's for investment/ capitol management purposes ? Seems somebody pulled the wool over the sheeps eyes.
