HSBS

Sad though obvious the previous poster simply does not understand what leadership role the HSBS position entails.
HSBS hold the keys to the closed account access doors.
I mean Marge in the cath lab could one day see the CFO and tell him what a nice person the HSBS is to her. The CFO will reply that he really thinks that guy is going places. Not sure what he does and is with some strange Long named company that he has no idea why the guy keeps leaving a card with his secretary.
One day someone may actually use the HSBS business card to write other short notes on - I believe the Chief Medical Director has more cards than post it notes from this fine man.
Stand back Boehringer Ingelheim reps and prepare to be dazzled by the HSBS.

Go figure. The guy who created it went to Nestle. The chick who tried to sell it to us was, well, fired or was she pursuing different opportunities wink wink. (She was entertaining to watch on stage though. Can you believe she the things she said on stage?) And now the last man standing, the one who over saw it ALL, is retiring. Who is left to support it? I will tell you: ZS associates.

Yes ZS associates came up with this crap and will return with a different bag of crap. And BI will buy it. Watch and see.

i agree with #6 above. The HSBS by virtue of their proven prior performance have the right mix of qualities that facilitate leadership without authority and a path of success for the entire account team. Add to the team high functioning TBS and a seasoned KAM and success in the accounts will be a given.

BI is on the right track with this team concept and will prove to be a valuable proof source for ZS Industries consulting work!

Are you high?

Are you high?
Now that's a real useful comment! Thanks for moving this thread forward. You have to look no further than what happened to the HSBS position in California to know how valuable that role is to the success of the account based sales model. Almost all of the the HSBS positions where cut in December leaving only a few very important positions throughout the state. Oh, and by the way the important parts of California are at or near sea level. So the answer is NO! I am not high.

Oh, you are just stupid. That explains it

Post it notes. You'd be lucky if one business card has been used as an emergency bugger parker by the Chief Medical Director if he has run out of kleenex. I am sure the HSBS has a dazzling excel spreadsheet about this closed health system and how it works and how the decision makers are being influenced by Marge after she gets the business card. Sorry to break it to ya but Marge doesnt give a shit if you wind up as a greasy spot on the road on your way home and neither does anyone else in your closed account.

I had a HSBS in my territory that only lasted two weeks before she found a position outside of BI. The brain trust then brought in a hire from outside of BI because they had a similar position with Merck or Pfizer. That one lasted barely 18 months. Oh look, the Braun trust has just posted the position again!

The territory accounts hate drug reps and do all they can to keep them out. Additionally, the accounts do not put chronic use medications on formulary. That's right, none of our medications or our competitions medications are on formulary!

So what does a HSBS all day in this situation?

I wouldn't get too worked up. That experiments expiration date is about up. After the relaunch of Stio and the long awaited institutional pack the timer will be going off

And when hospitals don't bite on respimat they will want someone to blame. Sure the per day cost will be lower than the competition but acquisition cost considering length of stay will make that moot

A lot of good an institutional pack is going to do in a territory like #15 above! Which begs the question; how many HSBSs are in a territory where accounts no longer put chronic use medications on formulary? My guess is that CA had a lot( as evident by the regional elimination of most of the HSBS positions at end od 2017.
