Selling off all fleet vehicles to create an influx of cash?
If the company wants to save money, how about eliminating half of the useless Health Systems positions we have?
Easy fix. Resign.Taking away our vehicle is a straight-up pay cut. Between the down payment, monthly payments, insurance, gas, tolls and maintenance, unless the stipend's like 1200 a month which you know it won't be anywhere close to that, we're going to be underwater. Not to mention there's a 5-10k shortage fee at most car dealers right now due to the chip shortage, so there's not many options. Everyone is overcharging. My spouse had to just buy a new car and they had to search all over the place to get any kind of half decent deal that wasn't outrageous and it ended up being a junky car at that. How about instead of taking our cars away we get rid of company cell phones as most don't use them, and keep all meetings including the national launch and POAs as virtual as launches can cost into the millions. Look at other unnecessary measures. Limit the spending on ordering and printing materials as that also can be very expensive. Is RepMail really that necessary? You know most of that's just getting thrown directly in the trash anyways since they make us send it every single week. It's spam. I can't imagine what they're paying for that service.
And then there's also the factor of fairness. Certain people who live in their territories aren't going to beat their cars up as much and pay for gas as much as others that have to drive over an hour every day just to get to their territory. Not to mention crossing various state lines paying tolls and such.
Are they also going to use a tracking app to verify mileage?
Sigh. This is just not good. Really bad look.

Easy fix. Resign. What a completely ignorant response. You obviously must be someone in upper management who doesn't feel the woes of us lowly reps. Astellas is one of the lowest paying pharma companies in the industry and you're backing what is essentially going to be a pay cut in addition to a huge disruption to the selling business. Yeesh.
We don’t care. There are a lot of artificial turf and solar panel salespersons that are willing to take all of your vacated positions. What a completely ignorant response. If you are Upper Management on CafePharma saying “we don’t care,” maybe you need to rethink your line of work. This is a pay cut to your sales force. Try being a manager with no one to manage.
I don't have a bunch of whining pharma reps under me. Get a real sales job and then you can write off your miles on your taxes with no car allowance. You get paid to drive in circles and occasionally discuss product. Do not act as though we cannot grab the latest college grad for half of your rate and that your territory would not miss a beat.If you are Upper Management on CafePharma saying “we don’t care,” maybe you need to rethink your line of work. There’s no shortage of moronic reps that should be in leadership, but yet, none of them are. You work for us, stupid, so what does that say about you?Let’s guess which D-Bag manager this is…so many to choose from.
