Don't get me wrong. I am not a doomer. For sure, amazing growth potential and value can be found with anti-obesity injectables, which translates into better health outcomes for all. But are we the best company to scale this up? Will Eli Lilly be an heroic household name among tens of millions of homes nationwide and globally? Can supply chain and manufacturing challenges be overcome? Can the cost of the therapies find a "goldlilocks" zone of attractive price, yet agreeable profitable?

Well good then! We can all average down at reasonable prices. Granny Yellen has not allowed a recession for many years now.

The idea that I was toying with was how to leverage the synergies of anti-obesity with myokines. Myokines being a treasure trove of hundreds of small to intermediate endogenous biomolecules produced when muscle tissue is stimulated. Can you imagine the whole population fit, strong, with a can-do mindset and energy in abundance?

Why would I accept an argument without any evidence? This kind of hyperbole may be better suited to Facebook or Linkedin. It would fit in well with the petabytes of nonsense stored on server farms and firehosed to billions of people daily.

The anti-obesity peptides are fine when used under medical supervision. Hey, once the patient gets into a zone where they are aerobically fit, with great glucose control, optimized waistline, and daily morning wood, hey it's all good. Any man without morning wood is like a day without sunshine.

You can find some evidence on FAERS. Furthermore, I read a study, with lilly as a financial backer, that showed a majority of the people who discontinue these obesity drugs regain all of the weight they lost. These facts suggest that the drugs didn't work and the medical supervision was shit. These companies want obese people to be on these dangerous drugs for their entire lives. You have davie rickie using these drugs, don't you? His face looks terrible. He looks ill.
 






Why did millions of years of evolution make natural GLP1 have a duration of action of a few minutes? Laboratory artificial GLP1 has a duration of action of days. When these synthetic hormones are used for weight loss, how does it make sense to unnaturally signal the healthy pancreas to produce and store insulin to only have it released in “Glucose Dependent” manner? When used to achieve weight loss, less insulin is released because of less meals. On one hand you have pancreas being unnaturally stimulated constantly to produce and store insulin and, on the other, you have less release after a meal? Pancreatitis is in package insert and is a risk factor for pancreatic cancer.
 






The unnatural constant stimulation of the healthy pancreas with mega doses of artificial long acting laboratory hormones, could easily bring this company to an end. The lawsuits will be filed for decades. All this for temporary weight loss?
 






The lawsuits that will be filed can occupy lawyers for decades. Who would knowingly risk pancreatic and thyroid cancer for temporary weight loss? The FDA is recording adverse events. The national institute of health wants more cancer analysis with these artificial laboratory hormones being pushed for weight loss. Hopefully, this modern chemistry comes to the attention of Robert Kennedy. I feel sorry for patients, shareholders and employees. Everyone suffers while company executives cash stock options.

But can't the dose be scaled back, or eliminated, after weight loss, assuming diet and exercise are altered to keep the weight-loss gains?
 






People need to change their life style and eat healthy. I am in favor of placing a gastric balloon to create a feeling of fullness. Once the weight loss goals are achieved, the balloon can be removed. Maybe these artificial GLP1 hormones are more convenient to physicians. Doctors may not want to perform gastric balloon placements on millions of patients. Once these synthetic long acting hormones are stopped, it will take weeks before the metabolites leave a person’s body completely. The healthy pancreas will still suffer from stimulation for weeks after these laboratory hormones are stopped. Modern medicine to the rescue!!!

In their view, stimulating the pancreas is too risky because it is a delicate organ that produces lots of enzymes. Also, pancreatic cancer is the most deadly. Unfortunately, I do not know the answer about muscle tissue producing hormones.

I hate long acting GLP1 for weight loss because it makes absolutely no sense to make healthy pancreas work harder when less insulin is needed because people are eating less. This is really Frankenstein science. GLP1 science is from the 1980’s and is being recycled today to drive stock price. Sell to huge obesity market.

hmmm. So are you saying that they should be prescribed for short term use only?

FWIW, serious bodybuilders who use various substances to accelerate their progress speak a lot about "rotating" -off and on - to avoid serious side effects. It's not as if we need to restrict ourselves to only the most profitable treatments.

The company just went through a large downsizing. Only the best product cheerleaders were retained. The pressure is on to sell these artificial long acting hormones. Many low performers will be fired. There is a “Sense of Urgency” to sell. Employee’s livelihood is on the line!!!
