How will J&J respond to Trump and DEI rollbacks?

I hope the 25% tariffs stick. Maybe J&J will reconsider their love of cheap Hispanic manufacturing slave labor in Juarez, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Brazil. Maybe Warsaw & Raynham will get a reprieve.

DEI is Alive and well. Newly hired Southeast Immunology RBD (Yes, a Regional SALES job) he spent 28 years at Amgen, most recent job, Director of DEI at Amgen.
Not for long. Soon EVERYONE will be hired on qualifications, experience, knowledge, and skills ONLY. J&J will soon stop discriminating based on gender and skin color. No more “special” races, colors, or genders. Everyone competes equally, just like MLK, Jr. said!

DEI is about more than race and gender - it’s also accessibility for people with disabilities, flexible work arrangements, daycare programs, fair pay for similar roles etc.

Don't count on it. The inmates are running the asylum now.

If that's true then Joaquin is fucked.

This.

The infiltration is too expansive. We are controlled by a bunch set on righting the wrongs from centuries ago and there is only one group with which they plan to extract revenge. Look around.
So fuck 'em. Best thing they did is shut down CVM. All the capable people found new jobs at other companies immediately. Let the leftovers try and run a company where their only focus is DEI. My advice, start dumping your shares before it dumps you.

As an older white male J&J employee, this was my experience with DEI:
- I signed up for one effort because the senior director complained that no men were involved in the program, so I volunteered to help out. At my first meeting, she stated flat out that the biggest problem with J&J was "..all the old white men who just don't get it."
- When travelling once, I had an Asian female employee tell me that she was "untouchable". "As an Asian female, I tick two boxes" she said," so I can do anything I want and I never have to worry about my job." She was later promoted to Director.
- I had a younger female minority employee accuse me of 'white, male privelge' even though both of her parents were doctors, she went to private schools, and was basically treated as a princess her whole life. For the record, my dad worked in a factory, and I worked my way through college at a state school.
- I signed up to particitpate in a mentoring program where more experience employees helped to mentor newer, female employees. I had one meeting with my mentee, after which she went to the program leader and requested a new mentor. She didn't feel that she would be able to learn anything from an 'old, white guy'.
Then, when it came time to lay folks off, guess who got the axe? All the older, white guys.
So if you think that J&J is not hostile to older, white males - get a clue.

Keep crying about it, bitch

Well said. Many aspects of you story are the same for others. What I love is how we (whites) networked, sought out advice and basically worked our asses off by taking roles outside our comfort zone and stretching ourselves. To the perceived "oppressed" it was a good ol' boy network. Now all you have to do is look a certain way and you skip the line. Shit, there isn't even "a line" any longer, other than a white out the door.

Good luck, so far the DEI recipients haven't showed any of us anything worthwhile.

Here is what DEI has shown me -

One D2 who jumped to VP in record time, who thought they were the smartest in the room, yet stole every idea and would present them as their own. This person also didn't hide their disdain for experienced white males

Another D2 who led training but outright refused to be up in front of an audience due to social anxiety. Isn't public speaking and presenting a pre-requisite for training? How do you coach your team?

An M2 who was allowed to take an in house role but worked it remotely after others were told they couldn't

This is what they call, "equity"
