How to Bumble a Launch

Shire having a Vyvanse booth at the National meeting of OB/GYN's is a little odd but it is even odder that KK announces that Shire will now -NOT-display because of administrative difficulties.
???
Maybe she did not fill out the right tracker.

Compliance probably stopped here from yet another stupid idea that could put the company in jeopardy.

Well, at least we received another box of the PNMT $15 coupons to add to the hundreds already sitting in the storage unit. No need to provide any 30-free trial cards...it is not important to get a free trial on the medication, or provide titration tools.

There are no 30 Free trial cards for Concerta and Adderal IR and they seem to do just fine. I would rather see a 30 free option for cash patients. That is mostly adult patient and the ones that need the trial. If you are asking someone to pay cash price...or pay cash until they hit thier deductible give them a free trial. Those are the ones that need it most. Shire has done nothing to help the high deductible plan patients.

This is the patient getting lost in the cracks right now, especially with the price increases. No one is talking about it. Instead all the focus is one the 6-12 market which if you know anything about the MOA and side effect profile of these drugs is not the patient to be putting on a amphetiamine first line. Especially at the pediatrician level. Psych and tougher to treat younger kids may be a good canidiate, but still not first line. It is against everything these doctors are taught in med school and the oath they have taken. Sure we can sell it to the young kids and we will, but all that is doing is hurting your chances of patients having good outcomes and staying on this medication long term or the risk of them willing to try it again at the more appropriate age types. It is a fact most patients do not stay on the first ADHD medication they are prescribed.

You are correct! I forgot to highlight that in the post for the 30-free need. I am hearing more and more of that: high-deductible or must fail IR first...we all know that not too many people "fail" on IR.
