And this is no BS...actually pretty well known fact in certain circles...she was protected because she "worked late" with her upper level managers (old dirty men) to not only get to DM level but so she was free to f&$k the guys she hired/wanted...I mean on tequila forget it...she actually drug me into the men's room at the last POA right after we shut down the hotel bar...I tore her apart that night...so funny cuz the next day (day POA ended) she was limping and told everyone she pulled a muscle on the elliptical...I'm gonna miss that piece

Being an ex female DM (canned) I can recall many memorable 'ride-alongs' for which the only 'work plan' was to get my newbie male hire into my ***** . I used power of persuasion and promotions to get what I wanted. Ironically I got canned by one of the guys who f'd me in the car !

I'm sorry you were cut. I've been through it & trying to figure out the why is one of the hardest parts. Everyone says it's not personal & that everything happens for a reason & that it means there's something bigger & better out there for you....blah blah...
Only other people who were cut or have been cut know how it feels.
It seems like it was personal in some cases this time. It wasn't a massive thing like what our comrades at Pfizer, Merck, Watson went through.
For me not letting the why eat at me & trying to not be bitter about it while I healed is all I could do. It's rough.

This wasn't me, but she sounds fun! And I could care less if you believe me or not, there are those out there who know this goes on, and in my particular case who it is. Her "protection" is now gone, new boss knew of her "ways" (not with reps, but with her protectors) and he was going to can her first chance he got, just so happens it was with this lay-off. And again, I'm 28 and ask you honestly what would you have done??

This goes on in most pharma companies. I personally know of several male managers who did same to female employees. Got regular service. That's how some gals move up the management chain. A good looker has a lot of advantaged in a sales job. Nothing profound about this.
