Eisai is like an old company with an established union , i.e. Ford , GM . Performance does not matter , you only have to fulfill minimum requirements. Great success is not recognized or liked in fact it is threat to the established managers. you will be more successful completing your expense report on time and calling on all your targets regardless of potential then being one of the top reps with great sales but poor admin and not seeing all your targets.
The arrow has hit the target. Due to the VP having no idea how to sell in today's environment and the over dependence on legal, Eisai has reverted to some insane obessession with mechanical process oriented activity: Expense Reports, trackers, business plans, Elle, trackers II, mileage, business plans II, reports, speakers programs etc. on and on. Quality is not part of the equation. Everyone trys to justify their existence, cronyism is rampant and true salesmanship, creativity is not highly valued or recognized. If your DM loves you then your numbers can suck and you will be fine. If your DM dislikes you or marginalizes you, then you can be left out to dry. Eisai isn't respected so it doesn't really matter outside of Eisai what any manager or else thinks of you.
