Well I have numerous email and several VM on panel building. Also, email on if the panel was too small or vap only no p & h fee. That's not standard across the board to payers. The biggest problem we have is that we do not treat all the payers the same and that is non compliant. And I will close by stating managers have placed additional tests to panels.
do tell!
I have more but that's a start.
Ok. Thank you. We all agree that your TF RD is a jerk-off. I didn't like JF, either. He is gone, now, right? And HR did not help you. You deserve to be angry but you are still here. This is good.
Here's the thing: Of the two RD's and two RVP's I have had while here, none of them have ever told me to build inappropriate panels. Never. Further, I do not know a single rep who has engaged in this unethical practice. As much as CP is a d*ck, neither he nor KF, or anyone in training has ever instructed us to build inappropriate panels. In fact, there have been at least two training sessions with KF and CP where they both actively lectured us on proper panel structure that is legal, compliant, disease-state relevant, and medically necessary. Our compliance team lectures us on this stuff every year and we sign an acknowledgement saying we understand and will comply lest risk penalties for BOTH ourselves and Atherotech. I know what is in my doctor's panels. I do understand that I, personally, face criminal charges if I am not compliant.
I am glad you got through this nightmare RD situation. Please do not take down the whole company by saying "Atherotech is unethical" because of this bad RD. It takes time and evidence to remove people from any company. Ultimately, your RVP has to take action and this stuff has to be handled gently.
When I move on to my next career, I can't sell Atherotech as an unethical company. It looks bad to prospective employers if I worked for a company that is considered unethical. Why would I choose to work for an unethical company? Is a little money worth risking my reputation and possibly even fines and jail time? No.
You won your argument so let's move on.
