So Novartis in another smart move has not given us Jan.2 off! This is a HOLIDAY you big LOSERS. When a holiday falls on the week end then the day before or after is the day off. If you don't work then watch out.... an easy way to cut your ass! I have checked with my customer (National account) and they are closed! Safe bet BIG BROTHER will be watching us!

They give us an entire week of you asswipe. Plus with the latest news, we will have plenty of time off.

The majority of my accounts are closed on that day as well.....seems like bad planning on Novartis' part....also I have several accounts closedon MLJ Jr Day too, but Novartis lacks the "diversity and inclusion" to allow for that holiday.

We get one week off at the holidays, that's generally 5 working days. These are in exchange for other holidays like mlk and Jan 2nd that other corporations generally give. Those same corporations don't give the week off at holidays.

Personally, I like getting the week during the holidays as it's the only time you can leave for a week(or two, today an exception) and not have a billion to do's or emIls waiting for you when you return, but that's just me.

With the recent news you'll have plenty of time off to look for a new JOB. Enjoy your Holiday!

Where do you work, I get tons of work emails in the last two weeks, plus all those upgrades and year end requirements.
BTW, Many other Pharma companies do now give MLK now in addition to the week of Christmas - they consider it an extension of their "look" in diversity... And Jan 2, 2012 is just a logical move to coincide with our customers - of course, common sense isn't required at Novartis, otherwise we'd have a completely different management.

I don't believe any of you that say your accts are closed Jan 2. There's no reason to be closed. Name 1 Pharma company that is off Jan 2. You all are so ungrateful it is amazing. If you're not complaining about Jan 2 it's the company car or something else. Unreal. I guess it's society today where people expect the world from their Employer and their govt.

Not true! I know many who have the week off as we do and Jan.2 as well. Just Novartis' way of screwing us!

I second that!

And another perspective is not having the week off between the holidays but having Monday, Jan 2 off.

Of working Americans (that have any time off at all), it's typically a A - ONE - UNO day for Christmas on Monday the 26th and A day for New Years on Monday the 2nd.

Do you notice the rose in the vase or the dust on the table? Careful of your thoughts, you generally get more of what you notice. And given that many of us will be moving on to new opportunities, whether in or out of the company, Wouldn't you want the next one to be full of the things you love about this job vs,not the things you can't stand. It's always a good idea to focus on the good: you'll be happier, your family will be happier and you will enjoy more good things in life.

YOU MUST BE SPEAKING OF RETAIL SALES....NOT THE SAME.

I DON'T MIND "WORKING", IT's THAT THE MAJORITY OF MY CUSTOMERS ARE'NT. HOWEVER, USING YOUR LOGIC, YOU WORK ON SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS TOO, WITH THOSE WORKING AMERICIANS?
