GSK is a potential buyout candidate for Novartis

Tech ain't biotech. Pharma has long been a safe haven during recessions. People gotta eat and people gotta take their meds. Could we have layoffs? Hell yes! Has nothing to do with a recession. Decades of poor executive leadership and underperforming share value is will trigger layoffs. My guess is that nothing will happen this year. We are more likely to be purchased by another organization. Which takes time going though SEC regulation process. Take it from someone who's been around the block, just do your job to the best of you ability everyday. Count your blessings. If layoffs occur, many will leave with a nice severance and will most likely find other employment within 6 months. Peace out!

You are an idiot! Pharma isn't Biotech, and GSK is a second rate Pharma company, which is reflected by the low life that work there.

That would be a really bad buy for Novartis IMO. It would drag them down trying to figure out how to integrate the companies. I think big buyouts are a thing of the past. The smart money is in buying molecules, not monolithic companies that suck

#43. Very harsh words. Chill out. The "tech / biotech" was a play on words. You get that now...right? You also realize that GSK promotes biologics...right? Just sayin. Listen, pharma aint tech. There you feel better? The point being made is that during most recessions the "drug industry" tends to weather economic downturns better than other industries. Now go back to your mom's basement and try to come up with some sparkling reply.

Play on words? I hardly think so. Just your self inflated ego spewing feces hoping it sticks! Typical Bagel dropper. Wears the same cloths days in a row, brings home extra hoagies to the beast and little brats. You are so special!

GSK is a potential buyout candidate for Novartis?
You should be so lucky for this to happen!!! If it does, that will probably buy the GSK about 2 years before they figure things out.....another year to wind down the dual areas of coverage...........my advice?..... don't leave unless given a package.......and if you can get one.........take it and skidaddle!!!!

Every day I dream of getting laid off with a package.

GSK stock has disappointed for many years. The dividend is nice but one has to be concerned for the lack of growth in share , If the stock price performs badly for a prolonged period of time, GSK shareholders should become frustrated and look for changes to be made in the management team. Shareholders are part owners of the company so they can vote out board members if they are unhappy, I can't understand why Emma Walmsley continues to retain support from shareholders and the board.

Dump the Walmsley and sell GSK to Novartis or another capable firm. No idea why investors support GSK when many other good opportunities to grow money in better run pharma companies are around.

Emma is a diversity hire at the highest level. Unilever offers 68B and Emma balks. Stock remains in the crapper. You or I go over on expense report by a buck and there is scrutiny and the threat of jail. What a joke!
