Green 'Pot' of Gold

I hope that it's a lot more than that. The other 48 States are suckers.

That's just the first year! Up from $1.4 billion in 2013. I suspect it will geometrically progress and the taxes generated (plus money saved on the nudge, nudge, wink, wink, 'War on Drugs') will outperform the money the feds are making on the same war.

There was a news program last night that looked at all the new business that are springing up related to the product. Ie, bakeries are preparing new baking products and there will be a distinction between 'medical brownies' and 'recreational brownies'. This has been extremely well thought out and my hat is off to Colorado.

The War won't end Vag, because it feeds many of the Oligarchs. This game is so fucking rigged.

That is just the tip of the iceberg. Where there is smoke there is fire and in this case, where there is marijuana, there is big money. The lure of huge money will be a major catalyst that will eventually lead to national legalization.

It's all fool's gold. There will be a net loss of funds, just like with alcohol and gambling if weed is legalized. It's a financial deal only a fool would fall for.

There is also the issue of drugged driving and serious dependence on weed or harder drugs.

So the odds are greater than not that it will be a financial loser and a detriment socially, which means proponents are left with no rational arguments for legalization, just the juvenile and self-destructive cries of "cause I like it" and "cause I wanna".

There one situation where legalizing weed would make some sense is if it was linked to alcohol prohibition but we all know that isn't going to happen.

Lookie here! And it's not even from the "dreaded" Fox! LOL!

nah, it won't happen in my lifetime in the South.

Medicinal use will happen is the South within the next five years - After the Southern states realize the potential revenue from legalization, they will also follow suit on that. I would like to see the tax revenues used to fund worthy (and needy) social programs and help pay down the debt states have incurred. I never thought I would see it in my lifetime either, despite the ever shrinking misinformed opposition, it now it seems inevitable.

They'll allow gay marriage before legalizing pot, and I do think that's gonna happen any time soon either. NC voted against it just last year. And SC won't even think about putting it on a ballot.

Money talks and with time SC and NC will see green - If not legalization, medicinal use for sure. .

Haha, gotta wait for the 'good ol' boys club to croak down there'. Ironic NC began by selling smoke that kills 20% of Americans now. Must not want competition.

Believe it or not, Phillip Morris has one of the best anti-smoking campaigns out there for kids. A friend of mine is a regional sales manager for them, and their sales are up. Go figure.

It's the proponents who are misinformed. It's going to be a net revenue loser for states which only a fool would support.

The South is too smart and too moral to follow fools over a cliff to destruction.

It takes a pretty stupid state to go for this pipe dream.

The Morals thing I get MFAS, but the other reason, is that most of the economies in the Southern States (except Arkansas), aren't that bad. Texas will not do it within the next 20 years I predict.
