GREAT COMPANY BUT MS DRUG...TOUGH SELL

I know so many are super excited about the new MS drug. That being said, the drug won't be easy to sell. It's a super tough market, many neurologists are very tough to see, the training will be terrible, and the disease state is difficult to learn. There is also a lot of competition for the few scripts that are out there. I'd say "buyer beware". If you have a job, think about it before you leave. If you don't, then jump at the chance if you are able to be part of their "club". The arrogance of Genentech reps on this board makes me not want to work here. I've never seen anything like it.

Good luck.

Sounds like a sore loser who didn't get the nod for a face to face interview......being bitter to scare off others is a real classy way to roll my friend.
This is 2016, not 2008 when there were over 100,000 reps in pharma. Now there are less than 45,000 so each position is just a tad tougher to secure then they used to be. Internal candidates are fighting as hard as external candidates are for these positions. If you're making assumptions based on this website, then you better stay where you are and be happy with what you do. Yes, it is a little tougher to land a job here and the process isn't perfect, but it is the way here and it works.

I'm not bitter at all. I couldn't care less. I don't want to go through training again for a drug that will have a temporary J code, be tough to sell, will be expensive and where the access is not good. There , fortunately, are not a lot of patients who have MS so it's not like every neuro treats it. Few Neuros see MS patients, and the ones who do are swamped. Continue drinking your koolaid. Of course everyone wants in...Genentech is a good Company. It's one of the best, but if you have a drug that's hard to sell, it doesn't matter how good of a Company it is Internal candidates want something new and that's why they are going for it.

Access not good? I disagree about neurologists.

Access is not what it used to be anywhere. All doctors are swamped, and if they aren't they probably have no business to give you. And unless something is truly novel all drugs are hard to sell. A temporary j code isn't that hard to deal with. But more importantly, did they tell you why you weren't moving forward? I've not heard either way. And I'd like to reiterate to the Club members that I understand I would be a seat filler if I am to move forward, but what kind of a sales person would I be if I didn't try.

Does P1 do all the recruiting or just for the new launch? Genentech is a company that I am interested in, but P1 was very difficult to work with.

DNA's backroom HR ops is located in Indianapolis (legacy loser diagnostics biz is HQ'ed there) and near the hired gun amateurs bumbling P1 chumps. The SSF HR ran amok by lesbians are outsourcing it to P1 given the need to screen so many candidates (reported to be tad over 5k).

That said for those who gets in - DNA will spend lavishly to enter/muscle in the new molecule and therapy and thus the reason for intense competition from within.

Anyway no need to be so bitter y'all but move on as y'all may get a chance to fill in the position vacated by insiders in your territory!

Peace

Princeton one is very difficult to work with. I'm shocked they still have any contracts. They have 5 people involved and no one talks to each other. It's truly a hot mess. Many candidates lose out due to their inadequacies. I'd never hire P1.

It is not being bitter. I am still interested in working for Genentech in the future, and want to now if this is how all recruiting is done for the company.

Best of luck to all who move on in the process.

This is the clown who spends more time on Cafephrama then at work. Kind of easy to pick out with the "club", using 'y'all" and 'peace' in every post. To me he's a bit insecure and his half witted nonsense is humorous. I got news for your sparky, you're Roche now, MS isn't peddling Tamiflu and MS Centers aren't easy to access without solid long term relationships. So enjoy your arrogant childlike comments on every thread and if you're lucky I'll take you under my wing at training..... If you actually make it past the initial phone screen.... Chump.

Hey "sparky the clown" here. Listen chump - at least I'm already in the DNA country club, pal.

It's kinda interesting reading about y'all bleary-eyed hopes getting dashed (but consider the low odds given so many peeps applied WITHIN and outside) and especially y'all over confident MS gurus who think they can walk on the water and at DNA get crushed - whatever suits y'all but listen - get in 1st, OK?

Peace and toodles!

You wouldn't be a seat filler. These managers don't have time to play games or waste other people's time. If you are moving forward, they are legitimately interested in you. Some jobs will go to internal candidates, but not all. They wasn't the best candidates regardless where they originate from.

Spot on. These positions will be filled differently. The sales process is different and requires certain skill sets. Best candidate gets the job, period. You only get ONE launch, and 1st to class to boot.

I agree. P1 is the worst recruiting company I've ever seen. They truly are a disorganized mess.

I urge everyone with close neurology contacts to spread the message of the Gene "culture" and way they treated you. This is the time to set traps with your close contacts and make these entitled oncology fuckers feel like outsiders.

That's the spirit....

Less time on you drug, and more time trashing a company. Winning!

Ha..... The ppms portion of MS (40,000) is still more patients than the orphan diseases I have sold to. Please do us all a favor and go to device. Attitudes like yours smell of a former athlete with a bulls**t degree who feels privileged.

what a dumb fuck you are with your response. The MS reps know exactly why your response is so laughable. I wish I could witness your first call.
