It is natural that our resident CP Ignoramus in Chief would think the TV analysis of the debate was "spot on". Of the 22 "reporters" commenting on the debate, 20 of them were admitted Democrat Libbies.

For crying out loud, they even referred to the debates as the "Tea Party Debate". I'll bet the CP libbies got those tingling feelings up their legs.

I'd love to hear from ILA and Leo on this. P Ho too. Yes, the SS system is fucked and yes it needs to be re-designed but 1) there has to be an interoim progam, for those of us who were forced to pay it and not allowed to invest it 2) what's the plan for the investments? Which crooked brokerage? 3) The majority of the people have no clue as to investing and (IMO) need to be given a choice between investments (ie, their own stock picks, a managed fund, an annuity).

As is, the program is obviously unsustainable.

My feelings are that SS should never had been instituted. I've always felt like my money is my money and I should be allowed to do what I want w/ it. I don't mind paying taxes for military protection but that's about it.

I agree it should never have been instituted but that's like saying a pregnant woman should have never been fucked. It was, so what do we do now?

It has to change but there has to be a transition program for those over a certain age - you can't 'force them' to pay SS taxes for 40 or 50 years and then yank the rug out.
