Good place to be?

Here's the real deal with this "opportunity" and the drugs you will sell. People come on here to troll but I'm going to let you know what the real deal is, most of us live this everyday in this GI, ID and surgery opportunity.

Dificid:
1. Good drug but way overpriced
2. You will spent your days as a glorified primary care rep calling on GI offices for random scripts
3. Hospitals refuse to use because of cost, they will use Vanc until the patients dies! With no hospital use there is zero pull through in these GI offices
4. It's ID restricted so the GI's you call on refer to ID who won't use because pharmacy says it's too expensive! You are constantly chasing your tail
5. Coverage is spotty as best (I'm bring nice) and even with assistance program Optimer failed at launch to make it more than an expensive drug
6. Quotas are ridiculous! 70% of reps make no money and this was after an "adjustment"

Entereg:
1. Selling Dificid is cake compared to this train wreck!
2. If you enjoy spending your days chasing down schedulers, re writing order sets, fighting dumb pharmacists and having possibly the longest sales cycle outside of capital equipment! Then selling this gem should be right up your alley
3. There are many reps who do have success with this product but a lot of that was dependent on the Adolor rep who launched the product. If they did a good job in the territory then you can build on that momentum if like many territories you have 2-3 users it'll be a looong road

If you have a job that you like I would do lots of research before leaving. The other thing to weigh is how are you with admin? If you don't mind lots of admin and process and occasionally making bonus then it's a good move. I would hate for you to make a move in the dark come over and bitch and moan about the company. I've been here a while and admin sucks but I have a "good" territory and have done well and plan on staying. Doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement but sometimes the known is better than the unknown. Good luck!

Hell yeah it is!
There are two or three lurkers who post a lot of crap here.
Don't rely on this to make your decision.
The vast majority are happy and never post here.

Here's your dose of reality....this company won't exist by april next year...the company has put themselves out to Bid. You can confirm this by listening to the earnings call from the "new" CEO
And the call is on the website, just click investors. That being said, if you need a job on your resume so you can find a better one. Take it and be prepared for the inevitable sale. It's just a question of timing. Best of Luck

Yep. We've tried to get Pfizer to buy us recently. No-go. Not sure what happened... Bummer because I would have made a killing. :-(

I like it here. But I have possibly the last cool manager in the company. Leaves me alone. My colleagues in other regions are not so fortunate. Most stuff rolls downhill and there's no way to avoid it. I just try to take it a day at a time. And I've got stock with a low strike price, which is the main reason I'm still around.

If you come over, be prepared for lots of meetings, lots of role plays, lots of garbage. And I would ask for equity since I think we are for sale. But it beats unemployment.

Would have made a killing? Not anymore. Educate yourself son. Ever heard of a double trigger? You are a lemming.

Have another cocktail, "son". My average strike price is in the mid $30 range. My stock vests unless the acquiring entity says it doesn't. In which case, we are all hosed.

Your posts are amusing. Please don't stop.

If you decide to come here expect:
Micromanagement to the nth degree
Monthly field visits for two days per month
Low salary
Low bonus
Lots of unnecessary meetings
Role playing like a primary care rep
Bad management
Low morals
Low morale

So run forest run!

a good place to work? oh yeah... it used to be. first year in a long while since cubist didn't end up on the top 50 places in MA to work - with very good reason!

don't know if you know much about the instability at the home office, coupled with new all-stars from genzyme and shire, but it'll take much longer before it gets better. :)

So now we have Tony and Greg Posting in CP to make it look like the sales force isn't in complete disarray? Get back to work boys and give us a strategy for Sivextro that actually works!

Everyone here is pissed off. At any given time there are 10-20 reps viewing our CP forum. A year ago there were virtually no posts. Do the math. There is not a truly happy or excited individual on the sales team right now. If you don't believe me ask the hiring manager to show you a copy of the latest employee (dis)satisfaction survey. If you're treading water in your current job and need a paycheck, them go for it. This isn't a place you want to be if you're looking to get ahead, be happy or make bonus.

Would you like some cheese.........with your whine?

Whine, huh? I was expecting another change your dirty diaper comment, Mr. Deep thoughts.

The truth hurts, doesn't it? Maybe if you aknowledged this mess in the first place instead of suing your own people we wouldn't be where we are today.

Uh, if your diaper needs changing.....well, you should change it. Let me know when you graduate to Pull-ups. Do they still do nap time in kindergarten?

Tony how is your Sivexto launch gone? Get your resume up to date. Greg do you need any help moving out of your office? You'll be in another building after January 1st...very far from sales.
Two complete zeros.

Greg is a very good guy. He helped grow the company, and sustained the culture, but was passed up for COO in favor of Vink. Everything fell apart after that - some 1+ years ago. I can't blame him for being checked out and letting the new wolves fight for the scraps. He did his job, and more.
