The real loser is not the people who were laid off but is you because you will NEVER achieve greatness if you cannot conceive of someone finding a better job than working as a pharmaceutical rep for Pfizer. You have no imagination. There are tons of people that have taken the OPPORTUNITY of being laid off to pursue their dreams and MANY of them have done way better financially than they ever did working for big pharma. Do you really think that being a pharma rep is the highest paying job in the world? You're nuts if you do. We had a saying in my MBA class that you need to hear. "You'll NEVER get rich working for the man." These people might have gotten knocked down but they have been given a gift too. They have been given a chance to pursue their dream job that they might never have pursued if they had not been laid off. You're the pathetic loser on this board not ANY of these people. The only losers are the ones that get knocked down and stay down.
Everyone gets knocked down in life, it's how you handle it that determines your future. There are LOTS of people in my industry making 10K, 20K, 30K a month and you will not ever find a pharma rep making 20K plus per month. I feel sorry for someone like you that seems to take pleasure in the sorrows of others because your soul is like a vulture that doesn't have the courage to tackle anything yourself but just tries to feed off of the failure of others.
Anyone can kick a person when they are down but let's see how much courage you have when these people get back on their feet. I bet you were the person who never measure up to their standard or got crushed by them when you went head to head. I'd love to have these people on my team over someone like you any day of the week.

I am a pharma rep and this is what I make:

$14k month in pharma before taxes. This includes bonuses
$18k a month in secondary income from investments. This is steady income.

So some smart pharma reps make $20k plus per month

Spoken like a real politician. Let me explain higher math to you. 14 does not equal 20. You can't include your investments when you compare the income from your job. How much money would someone who had been earning 20K PLUS over just 14K have earned in secondary income? That 14K is still at risk because you are not the boss. I know of a rep in my industry making 50K/month without investment income. That's 50K from their commissions that they earn each month. You are talking about home runs at a football game. Don't talk like a politician and try to muddle the waters. THere is nothing wrong about the income from being a pharma rep but the OP talked as if none of you could ever do better and we know that total BS.
14K x 12 = 168K/year and 98% of pharma reps never even approach that income. We are talking about the norm and the top 10% not the people who throw off the bell curve and are the 1 or 2%.

When you wrote this bull, you didn't seriously think anyone would think you were telling the truth, did you?

The reason you don't believe it is because you are lazy. I make $135 base and around $30k bonus. I have been investing for many years and that make arounf $20k a month income. You have no idea how to invest and never expanded beyond a primary care sales job. Do you realize not everyone is in PC? I have been in pharma for over 15 years. You are uneducated and lazy. Everyone could do what I do but they decide to buy the big house to impress their friends. Instead invest the money you waste trying to keep up wth the neighbors and you might actually not care if Pfizer lays you off. Who is going to pay for the big house when you're unemployed?

You're ringht. I am in the top 2% of pharma. You know a rep in your industry making $50k a month. Great for them. What does the average make?

You original stated pharma reps don'tmake $20k a month. Maybe not in pharma, but pharma plus secondary sources of income can easily exceed $20k. Wake up people. If you don't currently have a second source of income you are missing the boat. Pharma sales is easy and doesn't mean 8 hours a day. Take advantage of the free time. If not you will be worried when future downsizing takes place.

Don't let the smake oil salesmen try to convince you that you will make $50k a month without hard work and risk.

Quit putting words in my mouth and dragging investment into this. You can't be making serious investment income if you don't have a pile of money to begin with. I NEVER said you would make 50K/month and never said you would make even 20K without some effort. You are the one trying to twist words and go off topic. I would say that on average most people make 20K If and only if they stick with it for a year but some people o great in just a month or two. It takes a while to build up your customer base BUT this is a job you can do while working on another if need be.
So you admit you are in the top 2% whereas my top 2% would be earning 30K plus every month on their own commission NOT including what they could earn in investemnts if they had the time to build up their nest egg. But lets not talk about income away from work because that is not what the OP brought up. They stated that the Pfizer reps would never make more than they do now. That's not the truth and certainly isn't true for 98% of reps. I have NEVER known of a primary care rep earning 168K even with bonus just on salary and bonus unless you want to start throwing in the insurance and such but if you want to claim that then go ahead. It still doesn't lesson my statement that reps can earn more than they did at Pfizer. Are you a Pfizer rep or a manger and if so what products do you sell? Don't be shy.

What do you do?

While others are afraid of saying who they are I am not.
I am the President & CEO of Supreme Medical Solutions LLC. Please feel free to reach out to me on Link ed In. We are going to be looking for good reps in a lot of areas. I will be happy to explain all about my company to you one on one. To be honest I've tried leaving a message or two but I don't think management at cafepharma likes the idea of me reaching out to reps. I don't care who you work for as I feel there is plenty of business for everyone but you do have options and this just might be the best thing that's ever happened to many of you. Look for the silver lining and don't be afraid of chasing your dream. All of you have tremendous talent and nothing is impossible if you are determined and willing to work hard. Now is the time to believe in yourself and do what you love. I hope that we can work together but if your path leads you down a different one from mine then I still wish all of you all the happiness and success in the world. Merry Christmas!!!

This is a setup for a Ponzi scheme. Either you will be part of the scamming or you will be scammed or both. You may very well find this person on LINKEDIN, but there is good possibility of finding this person also in LOCKEDUP!
