So true! These Schering folks actually sold products and could not embrace the Merck code of not working. Frankly, they were a nuisance with their "exceeding expectations" mentality! That doesn't sound right. Having Merck on your resume should give anyone a leg up on smaller companies. You'll be ok!

Wrong...I have worked in recruiting for 15yrs and we stay away from Ex-Merck sales employees (poor selling skills, horrible work ethic and a larger than life "job entitlement attitude.

1. Merck has always been ranked as one of the leading sales training departments in pharma.
2. We have high standards for call activity so maybe you have lower personal entegrity standards.
3. No one is entitled to a job at Merck. In other words in good old boys network here in my opinion.

Believe me, working for Merck in no way helps your resume. It hurts. Merck is considered an entry level company by the majority.
