Gilenia Review

I just joined this organization and the MS group. I just heard from another MS rep that the rumor is the reps are about to get screwed by 25% of their commission. This was coming from someone that had exceeded their goals for the quarter. If that is how Novartis thinks they can make a big impact they are gonna get a big impact alright. They will find that in a highly complex market when you are about to bring an innovative product to market you don't fuck the reps. This will undoubtedly lead to lawsuits, mutiny and a bad end result. I know the company talks about transparency, but actions are what counts. I would not recommend just waiting to let the "message" come out of the rumor mill, but grow a pair and let people know upfront that this is how it will be. Dagmar if you let this happen and stand by the and do nothing shame on you. If a rep meets their goals pay it out- pretty simple! Don't piss people off before such critical milestones. The thousands of dollars you save by fucking the reps won't equal the millions lost in the big picture. Please learn something from your own recent history- sexual discrimination anyone?

Why do you think they are hiring outside for MS reps? They know that the aroma is funky for the reps that have been with Novartis in neuroscience for years. Yep, we have already been screwed ..... Bonus "miscalculated," forced into "overlays," and given unrealistic goals and therefore no payout. Just get ready to continually bend over. Welcome to Novartis! But Novatis is right - we would all love to be in a division that may not have lay offs. So smile while you bend over!

WOW. Am in a different direct sale @ a different big pharma co, but the theme everywhere is the same.

I hope you don't work for that DM based out of Texas. She has no MS experience at all!

What is scary is you didn't take 5 minutes to search for yourself on the news that Gilenia was approved by the advisory committee 25-0. It was on every business wire yesterday. Take some time and put in a little effort to get the information that you seek, lazyass. Full approval in Sept..

Thank you, Lardass, I just work for Novartis!

I have found that a lot of people Novartis hired have no MS experience. Bad move.[/QUOTE

And you were born with MS experience? The sad part is that as Novartis Neuroscience is going to get demolished by the end of the year it has a whole salesforce of a little over 100 neuro reps that should have been given gilenia, instead they have gone predominately outside of the company to hire. They always tell us how great novartis is by "doing the right thing in trying to preserve jobs." Not in this case. How many neuros have told current neuro reps that they won't rx gilenia unless you are the rep? Most of them. This company still doesn't get that the only thing that drives sales is relationships. It's kind of funny that as novartis continues to cut and realign it keeps getting harder for them to hit their goals.

You see that's why they don't hire you guys. Because you really have no clue what it takes to sell in this space. Without prior MS experience you will be eaten up and swallowed. I came over here from Biogen and I find it a joke what the training program is here. No one knows shit, and we are about to launch a major new therapy with a bunch of losers like yourself. The worst Biogen rep blows away the morons you are hiring here. Oh as for your "relationships" while they will get you in the door, they won't do shit to get your product prescribed like crazy. This is a clinical sell, and 2-5 physicians in each territory will drive the business. 90% of neurologists will not prescribe Gilenia, so they can tell you all they want that they will never use it, wanna know why asshole? Because they will refer it to an MS center. This is why you will be fired in 6 months and I will have a job for the next 10 years. Because you have no clue and I am god.

It seems to me that this drug is such an advance in therapy that it isn't going to need any reps, much less you, asshole. The physicians at the MS center are anticipating this drug and will use it whether or not you bring in lunch. Bravo to the scientists and physicians who developed Gilenia!

Again moron, that's why I have the job and you don't. This drug has nasty side effects. Physicians especially neurologists will NOT run to write this drug. It's an extremely slow sell, that involves holding the physicians hand as they start their Gilenia journey. You have no clue what you are talking about with anything so do us all a favor and get laid off already.

As for the MS centers half won't touch the drug for the first year. So how do you propose we get them on board day one? That's right, you have no idea so go back into the hole that you came from you loser.

Listen to the former Biogen rep. He's 100% correct. This has very little to so with relationship and more with trust

This guy knows unless you got MS experience you would be fired in a month. Go ask Biogen reps whats its like to sell a drug that kills people. Have you ever worked with patients do you how to read a MRI have you ever had a drug with a risk map. I am sure its no to everything so go back to selling your migrane drug.

WHy did the FDA advisory vote 25-0 for approval if the side effects were so nasty?
If this drug wasn't needed they would have not had the vote the way it was

They voted 25-0 but noted that another clinical trial must be done at a lower dose.

2 patients died in clinical trials

2 patients had severe brain hemmorages

Multiple patients had new cancers

Should I go on? This is only in clinical trials. When the drug goes commercial there will be even more side effects that rear their ugly head. Sit back and wait.

If you think neurologists are lining up at the door and are going to put 25% of their MS patients on Gilenia you are sadly mistaken. Look for 5% marketshare year one and no more than 8% years 2 and 3. And these projections will only be accurate if no nasty side effects start coming out of the woodwork.

Don't think this is a cure for cancer. It's a great option for a very very very specific patient population. Reps with MS experience will agree 100% with what I wrote. You others who come from god knows where, well, you have no clue.
