Gilead gonna be sold to AstraZeneca

AZ is known for cutting expense and Gilead sales force should be concerned. This won't be a merger of equal partners. AZ will control everything and Foster City HQ will be closed. Hope our management and shareholders say NO! Wow!!!

I have worked for both companies. This Would be a merger of 2, equal 100 billion dollar companies - not an acquisition or buy out. AZ does not Have base pay or reward (RSU’s,stock promotions) anywhere near Gilead, so the AZ employees would have large animosity towards the Gilead employees.

Sounds a lot like the BMY/CELG deal of 2019.

And your base pay basically sucks. Been there, done that

AZ here, a formal announcement will be forthcoming in late Q-4, probably mid November. I have it on high authority that this will coincide with our launch of the COVID-19 vaccine launch, please stay tune.
Thank you

If we are purchased by a big pharma company everything will change for the worse! I know people who work for AZ, GSK, and Pfizer, they are all miserable! The micro-management and hyper-focus is like nothing you've ever seen before. It's what big phama does, gobble up smaller effective companies and drive them into the ground! Let's pray we can hold them off.

Not to mention they pay less and don’t give out RSU’s. Stay away!

Gilead micro manages.,,what are you talking about, SB is a metrics kind of guy. He discusses these in mgmt calls. Gilead has turned into big pharma... promo RSU’s gone .. sad.. #RSU’s have gone for even for new hires. A lot of ex Roche people coming on board.

Very doubtful Novartis would go after Gilead. If anything Novartis should go after AZ for the Oncology franchise.

I was told Novartis interested for the liver franchise. Novartis has 2 late stage molecules for fatty liver disease that are likely to get approved. Add in a JAK that will be synergistic with their IL-17 it starts to make sense. Novartis is a leader in oncology already and has one of the strongest pipelines in bioonc.

dude, we are as micro managed as they come. what keeps me here is the seasonal shut down and the RSUs. But don't think we aren't micro managed. We are near the worst. I know, I came from Amgen and they are the market leaders.
