This entire industry is broken, not just Genentech. When leadership starts lying about you and then has district managers lie about you, something is really wrong. It doesn’t matter their age. I guess I would have to blame leadership for their lack of morals, conscience, honesty and integrity. It’s like the entire industry is being run by unscrupulous criminals.

The whole industry made a big mistake thinking that "share of voice" was the key. So, they loaded up the reps, sometimes 3-5 reps calling on the same office with different products. The offices got sick of so many people coming in with gimmicky slogans, and drugs that have been out for 10+ years. ENOUGH.

You've ruined it for all of the industry. Congrats to you. Glad I got out when I did.

This IS Genentech, not Roche. You have no idea what you are talking about. Roche always operated lean and mean from sales to marketing. Genentech on the other hand is so over staffed it’s sickening. Really, how many marketing people does it take in Oncology to support products with no competition?!! Then , how many sales people are out there in Oncology fighting to see the same customer so that they can get their one call a week in?!!! How many acronyms support every franchise in the company (reps, MSL’s, reimbursement managers, clinical coordinators, clinical liaison, access and reimbursement, and on and on!!! Why can the damn rep do the job?!?! So I will whole heartedly beg to differ, Genentech has created their own mess by having too many people in your franchises. Hell, if they want to do some serious cutting, start with marketing!
 






The Reps in the field are all that is required for success. The rest, including management is window dressing. Anyone with over 2 years in this industry knows that results are delivered by the Field Grunts pounding the pavement and establishing relationships. Marketing, Management, etc are where the waste lies, not in the Field.

If anyone thinks Pharma is a legitimate industry , look up the word ignorance. Pharma provides no beneifit to any patients. The few drugs used for surgery can be made from plants and does not require a fake study to prove it works. This industry is Fraud and bascially legalized worldwide mafia. The Sackler famiily was well aware Oxycontin was extremely addictive and put it on the market worldwide to kill people all over the globe, not to mention ruin lives. Is this not mass genocide? Pharmaceutical Representatives are the boots on the ground lobbyist and we all should be benned from operating. I agree. Big Pharma has been ripping off indigenous people by stealing patents of their traditional medicine in countries all over the world. Where do you think they get all the cures. They go to some African country or India and steal ideas. Big Pharma is no better than oil companies. It doesn’t matter what lives they wreck for Profit!
