Gen Meds Leadership Blows

The leadership has been terrible since the inception of General Medicines in January 2009. Look at all the turmoil and job loss since then. A terrible shame since many innocent people have lost their jobs due to the ineptitude of others.

SO lacks credibility. he spends the majority of his time working out - never looking at the details of the business, and managing up to PEC. He's great at making a confident speech, being positive about the future, but it's all fluff. There is no detailed planning or thinking. ZERO SUBSTANCE.

I heard he did the same thing in canada. He spent all his time working out and talking big, without ever delivering credible follow up

Ding! Ding! We 've got a winner!!..This is exactly what success looks like at Novartis!

Does anyone really buy the reason for the physician sample recall? It seems like a bogus reason to pull samples and monitor some numbers and adjust either the number of reps, or only provide a minimal amount of samples moving forward.

Additionally, I appreciate "in theory" the attempt to improve culture but in lieu of all the current variables that truly prevent the sales force from successfully promoting the portfolio, addressing the field in kilts to open the PC severe indication launch was less than apropos.

But his Lucky Charms are magically delicious!

I would like to remind everyone that nothing has happened to their market share yet. Also I think the handling of the cv product samples has been pretty good. I like Willl alot. It will be a said day when he leaves the company. Hes probably to good for this place.

Negative impact on cv volume market share may be debatable. Damage to Novartis and sales rep credibility is not.

Pharma industry leadership blows period. The industry strip mined healthcare for about 10-15 years, with the introduction of "pods" and the "mass market" mentality of reps as tv ads instead of a professional sales model. There is not a drop of creativity at any level, it has been replaced by metrics. Free thinking minds have been replaced drone management. Marketing has been replaced by vendors who sell the same shit to every company. It was a nice ride while it lasted. I never dreamed I'd be making what I make after starting at 32 with a 12,000 bonus pool. Stockholders got rich, countless thousands were employed at ridiculous pay. Now there is nothing left for the masses of reps, managers and marketers. The higher up will continue to be fine. I am a die hard capitalist but Pharma is a primed example of capitalism without a conscience seeking short term riches while screwing the long term pooch.

first example. Vague communication surrounding Exforge sample snafu. Leadership more concerned with newsletters and blogs.
