There maybe something to the compliance piece too. Everyone knows the Chief Comp. Officer has a questionable reputation, to put it mildly. One of GA earliest screw ups involved setting Austin Byrd up with a sweet position that he was totally unqualified for. Was GA giving him a consulation prize since AB didn't get the corporate compliance position?... What do GA and the corporate compliance officer have in common? Is there history there?
