Future of Derm

Territory maps done. Not the best way to do it, but if the ABM planned ahead, they prob got 80% of what they wanted. Take the 20% to make more detailed changes during the OM window to finalize shared accounts that work between territories. Guess there were about 10 districts that had the opportunity to add another rep/territory. None of them took them. That was smart

No credit for hub Rx’s. They will never do it. We blew this launch on so many fronts.

1. We didn’t prep the HCPs to find pts before approval because we didn’t know how to really position this drug from the beginning.
2. We went overboard with safety out of the gate. It just reinforced HCPs to look at the box warning and they had no confidence in how to address it with the patients.
3. We had no easy to use marketing materials to explain anything to the HCPs or patient and we just mailed bottles of samples with the hope they would find there way to the patients
4. Coverage is not great and there are too many hoops to get it to patients. Some of these plans actually require phototherapy before they will fill Cibinqo.
5. The hub requires even more work for both HCPs and patients if they even get approved. Sonnexus still uses the phone as the primary way to contact the patient. And if Cibinqo is approved for interim care, they have to contact patients every month or the rx is shelved. How many patients are being contacted? We have local specialty pharmacies texting patients to opt into communication and have no issues making contact. Hell, the I use does it.

Lastly, we have all noticed what few Rx’s do get paid for have little to no refills. How many patients are walking away from the copay price? Does anyone really know?

So true! Why are there no refills or barely any refills? I didn't know interim care contacts the patient each month. What do they say? What happens if the patient doesn't answer the call? Does interim care only try to call one time?

It sounds like this launch was fumbled from the beginning just like Eucrisa was? Whoever is responsible for dermatology launch products needs to be fired! But that's not the Pfizer way. They will fire the reps and promote the management responsible for this fiasco!

This 100%… Sales mgmt, payer access mgmt and operations (samples) mgmt will all be promoted, guaranteed! As rep’s will be laid-off in a matter of time.

Very accurate post. One of the best I’ve read on this site in a while. I tend to disagree on one point. Patient Access Coordinators do NOT need to be brought into the equation. Honestly, FRM’s need to have more autonomy and be able to do more, with the patients interest in mind. Honestly, it seems like I do more FRM “work” than the FRM’s do. Reps should make the process simple for the office to get the product to the patient, end of story. It’s possible and feasible. But now it’s expected that we make 9 calls a day. A good rep shouldn’t be told how many calls he or she should have to do.

Two things that I could add to your very accurate post is
1. Upper management needs to listen, and do what the field force says is needed. We are on the front lines. Maybe they should take the easy road and model their sales model, from top to bottom, like AbbVie does.
2. For all things holy, admit you made a mistake. The multimillion dollar investment in Pfizer Connect was a mistake. It’s ok to say, you made a mistake. Do what’s in the best interest of the shareholders, quit pandering to the woke bullshit, and quit putting lipstick on a pig (Pfizer Connect).

Years ago when sales ran pharmaceutical companies we were able to help physicians understand the pt type for our meds as well as helping them understand how to access products thru managed markets. Now with lawyers and marketing running the industry common sense has been removed from the sales process which has reduced the integrity we once had
True, you want to see as many customers as possible but quality of call with the right customer goes a lot further than hitting the magic number marketing dreams up

You sound like you were an acquired company rep, Parke Davis?
