Friction fit abutment???

Payback for what? Do you really think that all those doctors left Zimmer because of price? They left and went to multiple companies, BioHorizon, Straumann, Astra, Nobel and Implant Direct. Price is just one factor when a doctor changes implant companies. Research, referrals, rep support , conical connection etc. all play a huge part in the decision to make a change. Please don't blame ID 100% for Zimmer's fall from grace. It has been 1 factor only. Do you really think that a price drop and encode will turn your territory around? It is apparent that you are very new to Zimmer as most of their reps are. This is not a slam - we all were new at one time. But to drop pricing and offer encode will not win back all the business that you lost to BH , Nobel or Straumann and I wouldn't expect ID customers to just flock to Zimmer for a Legacy 1 style implant - the least popular of all of the Zimmer type implants that ID sells for far less than 180. Remember price is not the only factor. Best of luck to you.

Just trying to school you on some history. Nobody cares about friction fit abutments, and the ones that do get taken for a ride. But you have to differentiate yourself in some way right??? otherwise you just have a v-threaded implant from like 20 years ago that hasn't changed and got it's internal hex from Niznick, and has the same surface treatment as Implant Direct. You used to be able to slap the name "zimmer" on it and people thought it was great. Now, it's just another overpriced implant scrambling to drop it's price. Your flashy trade show booths and podium power doesn't fool anyone...at least the smart ones.

oh....and just talked to a doctor that was not "thrilled" at paying $800 for a 3i custom abutment and crown. Encode is very expensive.

sssshhhhh do you hear that? Its another Implant Direct user going back to Zimmer Biomet and an ID rep freaking out.
Don't you make money on growth? maybe you should save your money this year

This is hilarious, zimmer and id reps fighting about abutments. You guys have flat to flat connections. fellas it's 2017, you know conical connections are here now? Nobody likes your crappy connection anymore.

Haha, an internal connection does not mean it's conical. And oh, Id copied another implant. True innovation. You guys are hacks

so is the nobel active a conical connection? which implant did we copy exactly? you mean the nobel active connection that they got from alpha bio?

It is a pretty bad one, yes. It's .9 mm deep. Pretty bad. Yes they did buy alpha bio. So you all are copying alpha bio as well. Hacks. ID sucks. So does Nobel

you are very articulate. (sarcasm)

What is their left to articulate? I could bloviate like you but I get my point across in few words. I don't spend all day talking about how great my stuff is. I also can poke holes in any argument you got in something as simple as a haiku. I am that good. You don't get rep of the year at a major player by luck. It don't work that way homie.

Dr. Niznick sold Zimmer Dental’s predecessor, Sulzer Dental, a number of his patents as part of the sale of

Paragon Implant Company’s implant business in 2001. The Arbitrator’s ruling makes it clear that Zimmer

Dental does not have the right to claim it was the “originator, inventor or developer” of these products. In spite

of repeated requests by Dr. Niznick that Zimmer Dental abide by the Arbitrator’s ruling in this regard, Zimmer

Dental continues to provide a link on its website to a page entitled “Company> About Us” that claims Zimmer

Dental "has earned a reputation as an innovator of trend-setting products, technology, and techniques in

implant dentistry." As shown on a reproduction of that page, with the addition of the actual patent numbers, of

which 8 of the 9 patented inventions were issued to Gerald Niznick by the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Zimmer Dental also distributes a brochure (Internal Hex with Friction Fit Abutment) promoting the features and

benefits of its Internal hex connection (US Patent # 4,960,381) and its friction-fit abutments (US Patent

#5,334,024), both inventions of Dr. Gerald Niznick. In this brochure, dedicated exclusively to these two

Niznick patented inventions (pictured below is the Screw-Vent and friction fit abutment from this Zimmer

pamphlet), Zimmer Dental refers to itself as “a market leader in the development of world-class implantology

products.”

To paraphrase Zimmer Dental’s marketing claims, it is Implant Direct that deserves the “reputation as

an innovator of trend-setting products, technology and techniques in implant dentistry” because Dr.

Niznick, the inventor of Zimmer Dental’s most popular implants and abutments shown in these two

marketing pieces, is the President and sole shareholder of Implant Direct. To the extent that a history

of innovation related to Zimmer Dental’s most popular implants and abutments “ensures customers

can be confident that our products will perform and deliver under the most demanding clinical

circumstances” as claimed by Zimmer on its website, then that statement would more correctly apply

to Implant Direct’s new products as they share a common history of inventorship by Dr. Niznick.

Yay, they taught you how to cut and paste. You must fit in well there. You have no original thoughts. You just copy everything like your company does, real innovative and real original thought there buddy. I am going to ask the few Nobel surgeons left in my territory why they dont demand the same pricing on the Nobel clones from Implant Direct. You all go around saying that it is just as good or better right..............Danaher made quite possibly the dumbest acquisition in the history of dental. Again, jerky I am gonna spell this out for you......Internal Hex connections are really old technology that has been replaced by better technology. No way in hell would I let a surgeon place an internal hex connection on a missing #8 or #9 on me or my family. If you don't understand why then you are a bigger shill than I thought.

copy and pasting the info does not negate the validity of the information, which is all true. The discussion was about innovation and where this all started.....and it was with Niznick dummy. Who owned Implant Direct dummy. The internal hex still works, and works well, that's why it's the most used connection in the whole industry dummy. And if you want a conical connection, we have that too dummy. The only thing that is the same on our Interactive conical to Nobel Active conical is the connection. The rest of the implant is totally different, dummy. Not sure why it was a dumb acquisition. One of the #1 premium companies, and the #1 value company. Not a bad portfolio to have. Straumann is doing it. Dentsply is doing it. 3i and Zimmer are doing it. Have a nice weekend dummy.
