firing process?

The fact that you are even considering faking a condition for disability leave to avoid being fired says a lot about you. Mostly, it says you are dishonest. I will bet that you haven't worked a full day in months and your numbers are in the toilet. That is why you're being terminated, not whatever imaginary reason you've created to cover your own incompetence. I would take a hard look at your self to understand how you created this problem and how you can avoid doing so again. Until you take some responsibility for your own actions you're doomed to suffer the same fate some where else.

Or maybee.. You are smart and trying to beat Forest at there own game. Plus, I bet you have a family to look out for. Forest is not looking out for your best interest, they dont care that you have children to support, a mortgage, whatever the case may be.

Many hard working people with good numbers have been run out lately, because of imaginary and madeup field ride evals, annual evals, etc. Just so the company can bring in lower paying reps to take the place of the higher payed reps, in order to save the company money.

They dont care! Its stricly business to them. Look out for yourself, because Forest isn't.

CAN I GET AN AMEN??? This is spot on!!!

Definitely think about taking a sick leave before you do it. If you do this, you most likely are looking only at the short term beneifts and not the long term negatives. Like health care costs in the future, insurance costs and declines, because of a negative on your Medical Information bureau records. Short term looks rosy, but long term, its like having bad credit everything costs more and the potential for being denied benefits in the future are great.

take advantage of the short term disability if you need it. You get 6 months. 3 paid at 100% and 3 paid at 60% while still having health insurance. All the while they have to hold your job, when you get back if they still want to mess with you don't quit make them fire you so you can collect UI. If you plan on taking STD you may want to do it soon because the layoffs will begin in approx 10-12 months, no Lexapro equals no job. Good luck to you.

Does anyone know of a termination because of a pending military deployment? Obviously it's illegal, but once the news is given to a DM, I guess they could find anything to fire you for in order to get a new rep in the territory. Any advice?

I think the analogy for your defense here is the line from Shawshank Redemption; "... on the outside I was a law abiding citizen, I had to come to prison to learn how to be a crook ..." Get it??

This sounds like Denise Lucas

You got a question about the firing process at Forrest?? Dial up the DM, Judy, in Knoxville...that dude has said "bye-bye" to more reps than any manager I've ever known.
Ruthless!!!!

document EVERYTHING...all emails etc........i have seen them fire people quickly but i do not think you are in jeopardy. in fact because of your pending military deployment if you were in any trouble prior (lettr of warning etc) it may actually buy you time. they (forest) do not want it to look as if the military deployment is why they are firing you.

Poster 33.
Don't wait for a phone call. That dude gave me the ax about a year ago. He moved into the territory, moved his family for the position and literally has been cleaning house ever since.
He's a dick..drinks the cool-ai, does whatever he's told regardless of the situation, bad RD, bad access etc...
His wife is a bitch too..wants her butt kissed if you get the pleasure of calling on her.
Just get ready...
Good luck

You have a couple of options. But, whatever you do - don't let it get down to the wire on the probation period. I was totally stressed during a period of pharma sales. Went to Dr, he ran an EKG, had elevated heart rate. Was written out for stress/tachycardia/depression. (go to Starbucks prior to your appt - order a triple shot) The time off allowed for me to get a different pharma position, fresh perspective. It doesn't matter if people agree or not, it's what's best for you. On the other hand, I have had positions that ended due to downsizing and have NEVER been so relieved. The pure bliss of NOT having the position allowed me to be able to apply for positions full force and ace the interviews. Bottom line, do what you gotta do!

it is very difficult to get into high gear, most pharma's no longer hire anyone with experience and are finding ways to eliminate and not rehire or re staff the geographies. Almost all companies in this biz now are downsizing or "right sizing" and either are making existing terr. bigger and handing of docs to other existing territories or are cutting out head count all together. I know reps who were let go last year, and have been interviewing and looking for jobs for over 12 months. This is real, and once you are fired by the Forest machine or are part of a downsize your chances now a days of finding another job in this industry is 1 in million. Literally.......get a new skill and learn a trade. This is not the pharma of old.

yes. agreed. i am getting out of pharma completely (god i remember the days years ago when all i wanted was to be a pharma rep. LOL)i thank you for your input. i also am going to learn another trade. still employed here.....the stress of waiting around is horrible......ugh...not much longer...i just hope they dont drag this out for another friggin six months!
