Any experienced rep should not need monthly manager visits. In no other industry do you see so many managers riding with reps and so frequently. It's a waste of time and money unless the rep is new to the profession. Managers should be available if needed, have conference calls, be up on data and other relevant information, but riding around with reps is unproductive.
Very true but the company uses manager visits to "guarantee" that policies are followed (although there is at least one documented case where the manager intimidated the rep into violating policy, the company lost the case)
