Field visits after June 23rd

Any experienced rep should not need monthly manager visits. In no other industry do you see so many managers riding with reps and so frequently. It's a waste of time and money unless the rep is new to the profession. Managers should be available if needed, have conference calls, be up on data and other relevant information, but riding around with reps is unproductive.

Very true but the company uses manager visits to "guarantee" that policies are followed (although there is at least one documented case where the manager intimidated the rep into violating policy, the company lost the case)

This is a bogus reason. Since when can you tell who is violating anything with an isolated field trip...

If the rep is a flunky, cheat, policy breaker.......will they do it on a field ride with their manager? No!

Manager turns their back and the shenanigans begin!

Merck has final read the tea leaves and discovered it really doesn't need so many managers because the almighty computer tracker of everything a Rep does including Geo-Location can be done at the fingertips of just a few CTL's who will be watching your every move in real time. The oversight by the company and by the government is about to become very intense. Anyone remember the recent email from mother about what to do if you are approached by a government official ?

As for trackin' bet they are doin' it now. They know who works, who slacks and who is totally AWOL! Amazing that grown up people need to be watched like juvenile delinquents! Something is wacky in the hiring process when people without basic 101 work ethics are hired then work the system....Beyond human imagination!!!

Here's a light bulb thought.....Maybe its time to track the personnel hiring methodology!

Maybe those that are kept will be those that look good on the IPAD surveillance? It did seem a bit different this time since the cuts will be made from internal management instead of the typical outside "consultant". The IPAD may be the reason many more managers percentage wise will be cut versus reps, as you say.

I remember that, and that person-excellent rep-a victim of the reign of terror. That is right when things went south.

Terror has been sport for at least 6 years after the merger. Please Lord give me a package. These thugs will answer TRYING to enter the pearly gates.
