Female Viagra rejected

Short-sighted...my feathered friend. If effectiveness requires that someone ingest a drug (like flibanserin) for more than a month to receive its benefits and experiences nasty side effects as a result, effectiveness has everything to do with safety AND should be a central concern of the FDA.

No, not short-sighted at all. My point is that the FDA is out of control and arguably doing a disservice in many ways to the public.

We'll mark you down as a fan of the nanny state.

This is crazy! You should be supporting me as my position is more closely aligned with you than hers is!

You started this thread calling on women to pressure the FDA to approve a drug that apparently is safe but didn't meet their standards of efficacy. I mean you aren't proposing that the FDA approve something unsafe for women are you?

You've allowed your irrational bias against me to lead you foolish knee-jerk reaction that's at odds with YOUR thread!!!

Please give me an example (or two) of how, in your opinion, the FDA is out of control and doing a disservice to the public. Thanks in advance.

Oh, your welcome! I wonder if some of you folks will ever wise up enough to not try to challenge me. It never works out well for you.

Scroll on down and you will find the section on the FDA and drug approval.

You would be wise not to come back with any other response than "hey, you know you have a good idea!"

An article from 1994..are you serious MFAS?

I'm friends with a guy who owns a compounding pharmacy. The only thing that bothers me about generics is that the main ingredient only has to be within 25% of the branded amount. That's a 50% leeway. The drug could have 25% LESS than the branded drug or 25% MORE than the branded drug. I have taken some generic protonix that didn't work AT ALL. I have also taken some generic protonix that did work. It's all in that itty bitty leeway.

Re: Protonix - when Wyeth had their issue w/ the generic, they blinked and reduced their brand to generic prices. I get an Rx for name brand Protonix every month and it's generic price at CVS pharmacy. Just an FYI.

I've been using mail order -- I get 180 40mg every 90 days for $20. I only take 1/day, unless I'm having "issues", so I have quite a bit in reserve -- this batch has worked perfectly.
