Here is where I part from the above contributer. Shire bent over backwards to find me another opportunity within the company, but in the end, I would not agree to significant relocation. Many did get up and move, and today they are still Shire employees.
My severence package was more than fair, and they paid out all bonuses that were due and then some.
I would go back to work for Shire any day if the right position was available. Today is no fun, but you will survive, and the people at Shire will do their best to support you.

your full of Shit!! Shire did not bend over backwards to healp the renal personnel. just the opposite..only a few got positions when there were numerous openings!
