FDE Offers

I have had an offer for a position called "M2" what is that?

Lilly internal organization is roughly deviced on task.
P = Professional/Lab associates
R = Research/Usually PhD ding research "mgmnt" (watching stocks no Yahoo/MSN)
B = Business Unit (Sales/Marketing/procurement)
G = General Admin (HR / engineering)
M = Management (Hahwad dickwads and their coteries)

Except for R & M, most people fall in remainder of categories. This organizational label change every 3 or 4 years which is termed Innovation with title such as Center of Excellence in fecal productivity.

is it possible that if they don't find the right "fit" for a territory they will just leave the position vacant? or would they just pick the best candidate out of all those that applied for the position despite none of them being an exact fit?

HR here. I have heard of MANY interviews involving employers who interview candidates, but either don't really have an opening, or - worse yet - bring them in to discuss, then fill the position internally.

Frankly, it's disgusting. And I am the one who gets all of the "feedback" if you know what I mean, here we are trying to be so civil (not as in civil war, not yet, at least!) about putting so many perfect people out to pasture.... and I get an earful every day.

If they weren't paying me $200k/yr, I would quit in a heartbeat.
