Entresto Contract

It is a total embarrassment to be in the field and have to tell people that you work for PDI. I still tell people that I work for Publicis.
Yes! I now work for Publicis and I agree that it's a much better run operation. Worked for PDI back in '12 and it was a low-budget operation run by rejects. Some old battle ax named "Pat" was the sales director for that Pfizer contract and she ran the show with an iron fist. My manager was a total "Yes Man" who didn't bring much to the job. The only advice he gave me was "Just don't do anything to get on the radar and we'll be fine." The pay was low, but I needed a job at the time. It was a total "check the boxes" type of job - minimal resources and a lot of faking calls. The contract ended within 12 months and I was fortunate to have another job lined up to jump to. Sounds like, despite the acquisition by Publicis, that it's the same old pathetic PDI. Good luck to all on securing a new gig!

Sounds the same as the Entresto contract, except we have to deal with the Novartis managers, no protection from this and the same is expected of us as the direct reps. Glad to know there is life after this!

If you interview for another job in pharma, you should emphasis the fact that you reported directly to the Novartis manager...It adds credibility to your time spent as a contract rep in my opinion.

That's a good point. Does anyone think that this position will eventually turn into a real job with Novartis? Are they really considering rolling us in?

That's what they've been saying since the beginning of this contract. The latest rumor is that it will be announced at the Jan national mtg that those PDI reps who are doing well will be rolled into NVS.

I don't believe it will ever happen. I have no desire whatsoever to work for NVS. The only plus to this is that if PDI gets rolled in, hopefully our salaries will be increased to where we should have been all along.

None of this will ever stop me from searching (hard) for another job. I love promoting Entresto, but NVS seems to screw everything up. The NVS manager I currently report to is a total dumb ass who thinks their shit don't stink.

NVS will never roll us over. That you can take the bank.

What is the date of the National Sales Meeting in January?

From Publicis, the meeting dates are Jan 22-26. I heard that Novartis has shortened the meeting substantially. Like to 2.5 days. Who knows how long we'll be there, or if we'll even make it to that point.

Another great waste of time. Wonder what the new flavor of Sales call will be? Wonder if PDI will be again in a different hotel 15 minutes away?

Entresto is nothing more than an attempt by Novartis to extend the patent life of Diovan (Valsartan). There is nothing to prove that Entresto is any better than the now generically available Valsartan.
