Enough is enough

They may be, but the point is, you LITERALLY have no clue if that’s true or not (and this individual doesn’t trust you enough to confide in you) so get a life and worry about yourself
Cool dude, it's almost like OP knows the situation is difficult and came here to get advice. If someone is doing a poor job in your workplace and it's impacting your work and your day to day, something should be done. No one cares about being a tattle-tale. It's a job, not a drama club. Just bring it up to your boss and be done with it.

Great advice! Go talk to your low-level redundant DM about one of their reps taking medical leave..maybe advise them to stake out at the rep's house and follow them around for the day too!

Let us all know how that works out for you.

Someone said it earlier in the thread- a dm cant TOUCH a rep out on medical leave, it's a huge liability for the company. Also with HIPAA etc, there's no way they can prove anything, even if this rep was actually doing something fraudulent

....which you actually have no proof of except, for some hearsay

You're assuming OP is going on a crusade to hunt down the root cause of the problem when no one here is suggesting that. All they can do is bring up the issue of missing work, and then it's out of their hands. Why are you treating this like someone is coming for YOUR job?

Where’s the assumption- the OP wants to tattle to the manager about whether or not the rep is “actually” sick, just because they were allegedly spotted in public.

If the leave has been granted, there’s a good chance it’s a legitimate medical issue.

Maybe the OP will feel better complaining about it, but the other posts are 100% correct in pointing out that it would be pointless

The person on leave is milking the system. She doesn’t have cancer or any terminal illness. She is out on bs stuff which she has clearly told others why she is out. She cannot work but she can take multiple vacations while being paid for her leave. She works out at the gym while on the leave, etc. And yes it’s other peoples business, when they have a partner. Also, she avoids being put in a pip by going on these leaves. Some people are legitimately ill but this individual is just taking advantage.

What “bs stuff” is she out on then? You seem to know so then share if you’re that confident it’s “bs stuff”.

Also - partner or not, still none of your business bud.

never understood the 2 or 3 person "pod" in a 2 county radius abbvie incorporates. how are you dummies not stepping all over each other? add in a completely uncompetitive, shitty salary and I couldn't have walked faster from your amazing "opportunity" lol

So you "fast walked" (as opposed to ran) from the opportunity..which is why you're still spending your time trolling the company's CP threads? lol

It is their business if it continually affects the total business.

Someones medical leave is never your business. Even if someones seen in public, legitimate illnesses are aren't necessarily visible.

My wife took medical leave months ago for Crohn's disease- yes, there were days she didnt get out of bed. But there were intermittent times she felt ok, and would want to leave the house for a "normal" activity.

She didnt share with her coworkers what was happening, nor should she have had to

Instead of bitching to your manager or CP, why dont you have a more mature mindset, and document all the growth happening as you work the territory on your own. Use it as an opportunity for a raise or promotion..might be a better use of your time

it’s easy when you never leave your house!

One thing is to take a médical leave for legitimate reasons but to take several medical leaves through the year all for different reasons and come back on the field for several weeks in between leaves just the right amount of time for the company to have to pay you a bonus that your partner is the one that has worked hard to reach is BS. Some people know how to work the system. Some people legitimately take leaves. No one is knocking that. Other people know how to get away with not working, and having others do their work while claiming they are ill. This is why when people are really sick they are then denied benefits, etc. Because of other people who play the system. Worst thing is abbvie does nothing. How about they send this individual to an independent doctor who can verify/confirm they are really ill. Not fair to others who truly work.
