Enjoy Your Last Month Folks

Hey fucknut. Diwowdn't Doug and his sychophants tell us the 2010 layoffs were part of the prep for the LOE of Actos? Were you not there when we were told Takeda was right sized for the coming five years. Funny. It only took 18 months to prove that was a fucking lie.

If Doug told me it was Tuesday on a Tuesday afternoon, I would not believe him.

Wow. Laid off in 2010 and still unemployed, huh? Tsk, tsk.

Takeda was right sized after the 2010 RIF if things went according to plan. They didn't.

Try looking at the big picture once in a while so you're not shocked when life gives you a big shitburger to eat.

So things have not gone according to plan? Who made the plan and who is in charge of carrying it out? Our leadership sucks. They cannot forecast anything and thus we are unable to plan for a future beyond a few months.

And not, I have not been laid off but I wish I was.

What is an RIF bomb? Are you kidding? TPUSA is about to evaporate? I don't think so. Believe it or not, Dexilant brings in a half Billion per year, Colcrys (which I'm about to train on) brings in a half Billion per year, Uloric brings in 300 million, and Amitiza chips in whille keeping us employed. Aloglipin is already being sold in other countries so it is adding revenue to the company. That revenue is being used to finish the studies the FDA wants for approval. Why would a doc write Alo? Because it just MIGHT be THE FIRST DIABETES MEDICATION WITH CARDIOVASCULAR OUTCOMES! Not a guarantee but maybe. Either way it will have a TON of safety data at launch. The next couple of years will be tough but TPUSA will survive.

Wrong!! Actos has cardiovascular outcomes!!!

just not the type you'd want, tis all ;)

So many maybe's and if's, maybe you should be worried. I hope WHEN the next layoffs happen the company will include a severance, but who knows with the leaders we do not have.
Keep drinking the Takeda kool-aid my friend, I on the other hand will say yes to everything my manager says and keep looking out for number one.

Although I do not believe another round of layoffs are on the horizon, I do know SagePath is down the street run by someone that has more leadership than the inept people we have running this company.
Contract for hire will take over, just a matter of time... not to much longer.

Never took a friday afternoon off-never knew the home office does it every week. Well today I went and worked out and then got a massage. Felt great-no guilt. Why don't they just make this policy for all employees?

Hey Doug-the company is in crisis and everyone is watching. Here is a hint. Get people working 5 days a week or you will lose the sales force and never get em back. WAKE UP!!!

Don't mind when life gives me a shitburger, but when inept management continues to shove them down your throat,it gets old real quick!!!!

I agree-would show Doug is alert and not still in the TAP coma. Get the home office back to a 5 day work week and start establishing some pride in this company.

Well said....this company desperately needs leadership and discipline vs the country club-frat mentality we have now. I believe Abbott stock hit an all time high last week...pretty sure they don't take Friday afternoon off. Unreal.

Listen to the last post, I was w/ Takeda & thought 80k base was the best...now I make over 100k base plus bonus that I would rather not say & no idiot DM trying to mind f me

Good post. Tap did a great job with lup and prev-but they were great products and the entire culture morphed to one of entitlement and the sense we were bullet proof. Keep in mind TAP never could develop or in-license any other real products. Now with a different industry environment and me-too products we have the same people with the same mentality. Truly a recipe for disaster which is playing out on a daily basis. The Friday afternoon off thing is just one example of the deep denial this leadership team is in.

WRONG! Friday 1/2 day's for rep's are fine to get admin stuff done. Let your offices close out the week w/out you bringing your nonsense.

If you think the top performing companies in this business let their people off every friday afternoon it is you that is full of nonsense. And this teams track record speaks for itself now doesn't it.

You are all missing the point. A half day or not on Friday makes no difference. If people are motivated and engaged, then they will want to work, office hours don't matter. In the current environment, nobody wants to work. Even in the HO when people are there, they're not working much. What's the point? There is no vision to work towards, there is no strategy, no plan, no job security, and no rewards for performing well. Sure, the money and benefits are great, so good that all the unengaged employees won't leave.

Want to motivate people and get them working? Show there are consquences for failure and fire the executive team. Bring new leadership with a plan. Inspire some confidence. Otherwise you might as well give people three days off a week, it won't hurt productivity any.

Well said and I agree. I was attempting to convey the total lack of urgency and the frustration of the currentt culture. Also agree it will take a new team to instill confidence and motivation.

TAP developed the future of Takeda, Dexilant and Uloric. Takeda has only produced FDA failures and would no longer exist if not for what TAP brought to the table, thus the buyout. Face it pal, Takeda is now a gout company and no longer a diabetes company. Those of you that rode the Actos gravy train, sample-dropping, band-wagon, time to get out or learn how to SELL. That's what it will take to build the gout franchise we wouldn't have if it weren't for TAP. And I'm Takeda legacy, btw.
