Eliquis pricing, thinking like it is 1980 again

You just don't get, sure Pravachol is a good drug. I've been taking it for about the past 10-12 years but that isn't the point. The point is Lipitor was 3rd to market and became the largest selling drug in the world at the time.

As a shareholder with a rather large position in BMY, I wish we could have enjoyed a third the marketshare Pfizer held. But, as you know, we never came close.

Here's hoping we do a much better job, this time around, with Eliquis

Point is it was a head to head.

You don't have one in oral anticoagulation

What drugs are you comparing?

My post is the fact that Lipitor was 3rd to market and did better than all other statins.

This has nothing to do with a head to head statin study.

What's your point?

And Benicar was 5th to market, beat Avapro

And Vasotec was 2nd to market, beat Capoten

And Zocor was 3rd to market, Lipitor was 4th, both beat Pravachol

And Onglyza was 2nd to market, where it remains

The trend seems to be BMS can't really compete.

Plavix was mostly off label use, so reps had little impact there as well.

Maybe that is why Wright and Hooper left, they saw no world class launch ability.

Wrong! Mevacor, Pravachol, Zocor and Lescol were all out before Lipitor. It's obvious you never sold back then.

I left in late 91 as a result of the merger with a golden kick in the pants after 22 years with SQB. That's my best recollection after 3 GoGetters and 5 runner-ups. My investments were substantial and I never had to work again; however, I became a private investor with a 7 figure portfolio. So its safe to say I don't miss it.
