Duchesnay Contract

This is going to be a dog product and contract. Doctors use ondansetron for morning sickness, there are too many good ones out there such as Zuplenz which is an oral dissolving strip that tastes like peppermint, or Zofran oral dissolving tablet. Safer, easy, and actual managed care coverage.

If the new drug doesn't have good managed care coverage, it will die quickly. Bendectin has been off the market since 1983, so docs have learned a long time ago what to use and what works. I assume Zofran is generic, which is even worse. If Duchesnay comes out with a heavy hand on the reps (ridiculous training, metrics tracking, ride-a-longs etc.), they will leave in droves! This will definitely be a a relationship driven drug, and DM's lurking around will ruin it. This one will be lucky to go to end, which is 12/31/13!

whatever! It's now approved & I'm interviewing in a few days. Repping one drug? Awesome! Three decades proven record of safety & efficacy? HEYO! Clobbering your lame asses...priceless.

Just interviewed in Los Angeles area. DM Kurt was really cool. Seemed fair and relaxed. Wasn't the decision maker though (???!) he would make recommendations to West coast DM and said they would be having Skype interview possiblly over the weekend. He stressed they needed to have hire/offer letters by April 16 with hire date of May 1. We will see as of time of writing . . No calls yet or emails from recruiters. Cross fingers everyone. Start date is May 1 and training in Dallas Launch meeting begins May 13.

Anyone being contacted about Skype interviews?

Had a Skype interview and job offer. I will continue to look for another job. Nobody believes that Duchesnay is really behind this contract. I mean less than 80 reps nationwide? Are they serious? The territories are amazingly big as well. This one won't be good.

Accepted an offer too. Any idea when we will get the training material? I hope they don't make this a training nightmare! Maybe they will be smart and actually try and motivate this tiny sales force and not demotivate it at the launch meeting. One can only hope I guess.

It's hard to believe that they are going to waste time and money on a WEEK long launch meeting. I'm afraid that big pharma has already had an influence on Duchesnay. It will be nothing but non-stop role playing. You would think that a small company would do everything they could to motivate a sales team. I am already having second thoughts about going forth with this one.

I am having 2nd thoughts too about this contract. I agree that the tone will be set at the launch meeting. I don't think there are any pharmaceutical companies that really care anymore about motivating their sales people. Launch meetings have become a thing of misery the last 10 years or so. I can remember when you couldn't wait to launch a new drug, and came out of a launch meeting pumped. They should cut the meeting to 3 days and be done with it. 5 days is way over the top, UNLESS we spend time going over how to complete expense reports, administrative stuff, and learning the iPad. Probably will be 99% role playing though. Should be interesting.

Me three! I am waiting to see the territory and how many docs there are. I have one foot out the door already. I have a standing offer to return to my old company thank goodness, because I think I'm going to need it. We will know right away how this drug is going to do. OB/Gyn is an easy call, but hey doc we have this pricey drug that nobody can afford without insurance and even then you can maybe get it for $30 depending on whether or not the pharmacy I was told stocks it has autoshipped it in. Oh and if they didn't autoship it then they won't order it until you right a script and by that time your patient will take whatever the pharmacist/you talks them into switching to which will likely be Zofran because it's cheap and readily available and any pharmacy can order for nothing. Then two weeks into the contract we are going to be told that we need to start doing pharmacy calls also. Oh how fun, especially Walgreens, CVS who have no rep policies. Then you will go into walmart and when they find out it's tier two they are going to tell you that 90% of their customers are Medicaid and then the "pooch is screwed" ladies and gents. No market share....No job by Labor Day. Have a nice Summer!

If this launch goes as smooth as these conference calls, we are DOOMED!!! Looking for a new job!!!!

For Publicis, these calls went great! HA! HA! HA! HA! Talked with several folks in my district today, and all are looking daily to leave!! It's funny as hell! They aren't even trying to hide it! Everyone is saying the launch meeting will be a good measure of what's to come. Apparently, nobody hit the $60,000 salary the horrible recruiters talked about. Man, if they keep 1/2 of the sales force by the end of August, I will be shocked! Let's hope the launch meeting will be fun (and i don't mean a damn role play contest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Man you can't make this shit up, call the helpdesk , get cut off, transferred 5 times, ended up with sales department, help desk calls back, sounds like this guy just rolled out of bed, kids screaming in the background, wow. Never got the help I needed finally hung up.

Time to turn out the lights on the misery on this one, this is not going to be a hot drug, and definitely no where near the Billion dollar drug our DM was talking about. We have people who are full timers, but it only part of their interests, such as actor, band members, etc. I can hardly get to the gym, but I've already said good bye to this one, 61K was not enough to make me care about this OTC sleep aid and vitamin B6 combo, we where going to get ripped to shreds, and I likely won't ever be back at publicis so really dont' care . Just had to end it once and for all after this meeting, if that's what you could call it and I'd like to had punched the the Nat'l Sales Manager aka "the round mound" right in the face he is so arrognant and that dork we had our Skype interviews with, he somehow has a high opinion of himself and I always cut him down to size during the meeting that he aint shit, we make the sale not him. You are a burnout making some decisions, but I wouldn't let you in front of any of my doctors that for damn sure. So I waited it out, got paid, got another offer for about $15 K more base for a 5 billion dollar blockbuster coming and I am going to make bank. if you can make it work here then I wish you luck , but I wouldn't buy a new car or anthing because their allowance is a joke.
