Does your AZ counterpart tell you what to do?

I have been in the industry 15 years now. I was recently laid off and I noticed something unique and amazing about this company. I really enjoy the culture here. I love the leadership and my manager is amazing and she is very sharp and talented. She is one of the best managers I have seen.

Yes, my AZ counterpart bosses me around, but this individual always bossed me around when we were in Pharma together it is who this person is. I am learning it as a growth opportunity. I need to not go and tell my manager. I need to handle it in a firm, kind, businesslike manner . Mine has been very, very, extreme in the bossing around department. It would not matter if I was contract or partners this is the style of the person. I think in general most AZ counterparts are easy to work with.
However, it has been a challenge, huge challenge, and I mean huge. There are times I want to call my boss and tell her what is going on. Then I realize that is unproductive and I need to use wisdom and discernment.
The key is to try not to be emotional. We all need to try to keep peace and get along.

I do not think this is the case. Here is the deal, contract is top talent now.

I was in an office yesterday waiting to go back. There were 5 of us. 3 contract and 2 reg reps. The contract reps were the folks who have been in the industry the longest. I myself president's club 4 years in row . All of the individuals were successful that I stood beside me. Also, it was 4:00 and the weather was terrible outside.

Anyone of us could be laid off at any given time. I have been and finding a job is nearly impossible when you have 15 years experience and a high salary. AZ reps know this and they can be in our shoes any day.

In what are you a district manager?

SERIOUSLY, YOU COULD ADDRESS YOUR REGIONAL DIRECTOR AND THEY'LL TELL YOU TO DO WHATEVER YOU ARE TOLD TO DO BY THEM. THEY WILL NOT HAVE A REP RISK THEM LOSING A CONTRACT...FACT IVE SEEN THIS EXACT INSTANCE HAPPEN ON THE OTSUKA CONTRACT.
YOU'LL BE TOLD TO PLAY NICE AND DO WHATEVER IS ASKED OF YOU BY AZ REPS. THEY COULD SPREAD RUMORS AND YOU'LL BE TOLD TO SHUT THE FUCK UP AND TAKE IT!

VERY weak leadership on the Diabetes contract! My manager complained to his regional about how abusive some of the AZ reps are. The Regional told him to suck it up. We are on our own. Just remember to return the favor when they get laid off and call you for a job.

AZ rep here. Sounds like your regional sees the writing on the wall, the AZ wall that is! It's all so simple guys, just do what we tell you to do, show a little respect, and things will be fine. That's all there is to it. There is a pecking order here, and you guys are the peckees, so to speak. So that makes us the peckers! God, that's so funny!!!! No seriously, just remember you are our bitches. It's all cool!

I get it. We will do whatever you say...because it makes you feel better about yourself.
That's the way most insecure people are.

Does your AZ Counterpart give you instructions of who to call on, who to sample, who to leave copay cards with and demand multiple times per day communication? Does anyone know if they have been given this as a direction as their role in the field?

No, I tell my AZ rep what to do. That is no joke. The rep rarely ever works and I have to tell this person where to go to leave samples.

Well, maybe you should get your lazy, overpaid AZZ out there. I'm sure that's where you'll find your "bitch", out there carrying you.
I'm neither AZ or PublicisT but it's soo-o-o-o obvious that AZ reps see TP reps like strike breakers who will do their job for less $$. This board all about AZ reps expressing their job insecurity. The party will soon be over for well paid AZ reps; it's just economic evolution taking place. It's neither good nor bad; it is just what it is. Maybe these griping AZ reps should have gone to med school.

AZ rep here. There is no doubt that contract reps service a valuable function, that being our helpers and gophers. We have no job insecurity. There are no talks of layoffs at AZ. We are golden. We work around 3 hours a day, which is made possible by our wonderful contract reps such as yourself. Remember, it is you job to make us look good! As far as going to med school, I make more per hour "worked" than any primary care physician, have a retirement plan and great benefits!

Just remember, work hard, make us look good, and you will be fine!

At least this one admits the truth.

AZ rep here. It's all too simple. We own you. You are our bitches. You belong to a lower class known as the "rent-a-rep" class. We say "jump", and you say "how high, and when can I come down?" Just know your place, do what we say, and things will be fine. Understand bitch?
Not quite yet, could you tell me again? How are your layoffs going? See you in contract soon. Lol
