Does anyone know what this warning on the ActiVAC means?

Push #777
Under the general settings. Push up and down arrows for 10 seconds then it goes to hidden screen. Once in hidden menu, go to reset timer, then enter #777. Then push ok. Ok again to exit menu. You are set for 6 more months for usage.

There ya go.

I have had to use a KCI Activac wound vac a few times over the last 6 years due to malfunctioning cushions. This current time, my doctor wanted me to go to a wound care doctor and let them prescribe the wound vac. However it would require me to be picked up by an ambulance on a gurney once a week and brought to a wound care center over 1 hour away. They would not know how to deal with my extreme muscle spasms.
I found a KCI Activac wound vac and supplies second-hand where an insurance paid for the device, but then the person passed away. I have an LVN nurse friend that is trained in wound vacs. She has put one on me dozens of times. My problem is that the "Service Timer Expired" alarm stays on and I need the 8 digit reset code that is derived from my serial #.
The unit still does it's job, but because the service timer alarm stays on, there's no different alarm to tell you when there is a leak. That can be scary, because if you go a long time without noticing a leak, an infection could set in. The fact is, these units are out there in the second market, and desperate people without insurance are going to use them to save their life. And I'm sure even KCI doesn't want people to get injured worse just because their service expired alarm interfered with the leak alarm.
I'm asking if anyone knows a KCI or Acelity representative or a nurse that may know one, will you please have them contact me at the email below with any tricks they may know to turn off the alarm...or take my serial # and get the reset code from KCI? I will give you a small compensation for your help.

in response to the individual concerned with contamination, having worked for KCI for years, neither the VAC or the beds were cleaned very well so the issue of contamination is moot. Clorox!

For the code try entering "iadumbass"

Greetings most elite calculator. My home health agency let me borrow an acti v.a.c that was never picked up by kci. Lo and behold, the vac has the infamous service timer expired. Will you send me the formula for creating a code. Thanks in advance. I already ordered some dressings off of eBay. I've been fighting a surgical wound for near three years. Just got back on the vac end of 01.2011 and the idiot NP pulled me off of the vac for no reason. My wound is the best that it has ever been in years. I think that they wanted to put me in their ltac and milk my insurance. Nevertheless, any help would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely,

Esteban Gambino

Hi, I recently sold an ActiVAC, and the lady I sold it to says that it keeps giving her the error "Service timed out, 0 days left, enter code" and then it shuts off after 15 minutes, making it useless. Does anyone know how to fix this and what the code is? I just happened to find it at a Goodwill, so I don't really know much about it and don't have any of the codes or the manual for it. Also, does anyone know if there's anywhere you can download a manual? She already tried contacting KCI, and they were of no help and just wanted her to give them the machine. If anyone knows anything about how to fix this, it would be extremely appreciated. Thanks!

I just called kci bc my moms wound vac said same thing. I initially came to google looking for a general code instead of spending half a day on the phone with kci. This is how I found this thread so I will inform yall that are looking for a code... the code is only for one time use. It will not work for you the code they gave my mom. If my mom were to need a code again, she would need a new code. I'm sorry folks. I wish I could help. My moms code was generated as the rep was on the phone w me. We had to shut the machine off then turn it on again, entering a full 8 numeric code. The code for your machine will only work if they give you a code. This is clearly done on purpose.

Hopefully I can help some of you folks out, I read everything I could find on the internet and elsewhere and spent hours of laborious research and have intact found the solution to your problems, follow these directions:
❂write down your present settings (pressure, intensity, continuous or intermittent etc)
❶ From the home screen press the (?) In the bottom left
❷ press the ❝About❞ button (take note of what day it says that you are on just for personal reference)
❸ press and hold the (wrench) button in the bottom right of the screen until the ❝service access❞ screen appear
❹ enter code 772 (if KCI wants to get froggy and be litigious I found this code in literature they published online in publicly accessible documents, come at me bro)
❺ press ok
❻ press and hold the blank rectangle button at the bottom of the screen next to ❝patient defaults (press/hold)❞
❼ after holding for a while the list will scrip to the top of events. Let go of the button and scroll back to the bottom (if you have a really long list it may be quicker to hit exit and enter the code 772 again)
❽ the list should display an event that says ❝Events Cleared (P)❞ near the most recent event, if bot hold down the again. Once ❝events cleared (P) ❞ is displayed hit the exit button in the top right, then hit cancel on the service code screen
❾ hit the About button again, this should read ❝Day 1❞ instead of ❝Day 180(or whatever)❞ that it did before, you can exit out of that screen and should be back at the ❝help menu❞ screen, if not press the (?) In the bottom right to go back there
❿ press "clinician mode" button
⑪ press and hold the ❝ok❞ button in the bottom right until the screen changes
⑫ press ❝Therapy❞ and then ❝next❞
⑬ press settings and then restore your settings to what they were previously or follow the directions that your healthcare provider gave you
⑭ make sure to tell all of the Karens in this thread to calm down, nobody is stealing anything from Big Pharma, KCI themselves published this information and I am just sparing these people the time it took to find it.
