For those of you that own Forest stock, make sure to send back the FOREST proxy statement.....not the gold ichan statement. The last thing you want to do is give Carl Icahn the right to vote on your behalf. Vote for the slate of directors that Forest is nominating and NONE of the directors that Icahn is nominating. You don't want any of his guys on the board making decisions based on their goal of selling the company!

What are you talking about? We want Icahn to get Forest sold a.s.a.p! Get rid of crappy management and start laying off! I want to be first in line!!
 


















You don't need a takeover to leave if you aren't happy here. Just quit and stop wishing for mass layoffs which will hurt all of us. A weak severance package is a band-aid to what will become bigger problems for you and your family if you can't find a job elsewhere. If you think you are so great and so marketable, but are miserable here, go get another job now. Many people post here saying they apply for new jobs daily yet they are still here. The grass isn't always greener.
 






unless it is a mass layoff, you will get no severance, howie and the kronies will do their best to let a few reps go at a time to avoid WARN act


Forest has been doing the firing in 3's and groups of 4 for over a year now. This is smart and will continue, the op is one of the few who understands this biz. Forest fires reps in small groups, a DM is given a "target list" of 2 reps to move and manage out per time, sometimes 3. It is all about gathering call info, sample audits, secret pulling of daily activity, gas receipts, exp. reports, budgets, doctor signatures, first call stamp, all time stamps when laptop lid is opened to run "logging" on when it is used, when navigation with the computer is "awake" they track your every step to the second.

I am a DM at Forest, I happen to like my job. However I do not like what we are asked to do to reps in the managing out department. It is very real and it helps the organization not have to get stuck on the hook for unemployment benefits which are very costly to the company and also by eliminating reps in small factions we can avoid libel suits, avoid discrimination and avoid the all encompassing fear of retaliation...... I do not do anything that is under the table, my reps understand how this game works, for those that cannot figure it out, I have no empathy. I simply tell them to get their resumes together and protect their family as their is NOTHING I can do for them once HR and the RD are set on moving forward with a case and documentation of termination......this stuff is not a mystery here, and if you do not "get it" you deserve what is coming. The plan is to unload and streamline, common sense tells us that this will not be done with a full load of reps and pods. The positioning has already started with my troops, we hopefully will only loose the bottom but the top reps are all very susceptible as well....do yourself a favor, start looking.

Agreed, but you must realize that there are no jobs available. Almost every single rep on my team has been trying to find another job for months if not a year now, there are no other options or it is possible that competitive good companies are becoming keen to the Forest mentality and are not viewing Forest as a viable background. I have heard from quite a few recruiters that the Forest on the resume is a big question-mark. I did not 100% buy this at first but I have been interviewing as much as 2 times per week for the last few months, PI and face to face and I can confirm that Forest is a black ball......this fucking blows big thick penis and I we are truly prisoners in every sense. Lowest base salaries in the industry, miserable micromanaging from 22 yr old JV wrestlers when they were in high school, used care salesmen and enterprise and cell phone "guys with their phones on their belts" is all this stinking place is and now, it is the laughing stock of the industry BAR NONE, label from Forest.....this is due to culture....no doubt in my mind....

Agreed. It is brutal out here. Many of my peers have been networking like crazy and seeking any opportunity we can feasibly find. Some will take less money to get out, but the double stigma of "Pharma Rep" coupled with Forest is a tough nut to crack.

I have had some good interviews and connected well a couple of times, but without any success. I am getting worried as this place will implode soon and I have searched for work before without a job and it is twenty times harder. They look at the laid-off candidate as total failure even if does not hold water.

Is it time to bite the health care bullet and do something else?

The above messages prove that NO one should be hoping for layoffs in such a crap job market.

I need the severance for some more capital to start my own business. That's why I'm hoping for a layoff. I'm not naive. I know that most pharma companies are a joke. It's not just Forest so I'm looking to get away from all of it but I need to maximize the amount of money I can leave with to increase my chances of success with my own business.
 






To the dm poster wouldn't the dms start jumping ship as well if what you said was true. Anyone with half a brain would look at this company as top heavy with far too many managers who produce nothing at all. While it is agreed there are too many reps anyone who first of all wants lay offs should play with a loaded revolver because you are an idiot. The market stinks if you havent noticed you are not getting hired as another layer off pharma douch bag. Forest stinks that we can agree on but I make about 100 grand a year and I have no marketable skills because I am a pharma rep in the eyes of employers from other industries. Carl ichian can go fuck himself, there is a special place in hell for people who for the pure love of adding to their billions continue to go on fucking with people who are just trying to make a living to support their family.

our computers go into hibernation and when we close the lids, restart them, or get a sig after it has been sitting idol, a log is run that serves as a time stamp for when the computer went from active mode to asleep mode. Forest loves this as it gives a time stamped analysis of when reps are actually working with documentation of the time stamps. Lost of reps get burnt by this logging on first calls and last calls all the day crap. So if you make your calls and get some good sig's at a lunch but do not get anymore the rest of the day, your log would show no computer activity......its all just a gotcha game we get it but it is also magic when you think about it, they can bust anyone-one's ass any day of the week at anytime........

Can you explain, then, why they've hired 400+ new reps in the past 3 months?

Also I've had a partner get fired and also a partner leave on their own in the past few months and both positions already have new reps in there. If the company was slowly trying to get rid of reps why wouldnt they just leave positions open?
