Disappointing offers...

completely disagree. The only people jumping on this drug are ms specialists. It'll be a tough sell to general neuros. Not to mention managed care not going to cover the drug right away. Only strong relationships will pursuade non ms specialists to go to battle to prescribe ocre. You're naive to the market.

You are the one who is naive. Those docs put patients on injectables and orals. When the patient continues to break Thu they refer them to the MS guys. Very few Neuros prescribe Tysabri

You have no way of knowing that or how another person will perform or how the drug will perform. The only thing that is evident with you is sour grapes. It sounds like you went for the job and didn't get it. Stop with the negative posts ok? If you didn't get the job, just move on and find something else. It's really that simple. You and other asses have nothing to gain by causing this drama other than to feed your sick egos.

In addition, I want to comment on this thread. No external candidates have received their official offers yet. Some may have gotten an unofficial call letting them know something is coming. This might be possible, but no external offers have gone out yet. So right off the bat, this thread is a lie from a vindictive jerk. If internal candidates have gotten offers already, chances are they got a slight bump in pay. They are happy working for Genentech or they wouldn't be looking at another job with them and would be trying to find something else with a new company. I really don't know how people can sleep at night and live with themselves when the try to negatively play around with other candidate's minds. This isn't a joke and is a person's livelihood. So much for a board that really should be used to anonymously help one another with inside Information about certain companies. Unfortunately, in this day in age, there are a lot of not-so-nice people out there that would rather harm than help.

Thank you for your info. It really is disappointing that so many internal candidates that did not receive offers are doing this to valid external candidates.

No one is claiming that a doc who does not infuse will start infusing.....So "your" established relationship goes out the window. Doctors building infusion suites is a long term play. At launch you will need to get docs who are infusers on board and help those docs who want to treat with OCRE but do not infuse a safe place to send their patients.

These Genentech internal gods are going to have a rude awakening very soon. Welcome to the unforgiving, buyogen bought and paid for, and ,lazy doctor world of MS.

$120K-$135K....that is base only. Another $35K for bonus at plan. So, you can expect $155K-175K, on average, for your first year. You can't tell me that most of you are making anywhere near this.

Gene main competition in the MS space pays its reps $115-$150k in base, $44k in bonus at plan and awards RSUs annually (stock is low now and it's still trading at over $200 a share). Half of sales force makes well over $200k a year so to answer your question: yes, people are making that and more in the MS space.

Why be like this? Why wish ill will on anyone? So you didn't get the job...it wasn't meant to be. But to trash other people and say stuff like "internal gods" is very crappy. Like any company, there may be some arrogant people out there, but for the most part I think your name calling is juvenile and very undeserving. There are plenty of externals that got jobs as well. They were as fair as they possibly could be with so many applicants and that is my sincere opinion. I'm in the biooncology division but have friends that went for the positions. Only one got the job and there was a lot of tough competition. It's done and over now. Let's just wish everyone the best and congratulations. I know this will be an incredibly successful launch!

$120K-$135K for MS reps? Seriously? I thought it would be more in the $140-$150K.

Why? Are MS reps elite or something?? I sold two MS drugs and there were a lot of smart people and a lot of morons! Expect a 5-10% raise and work hard to get a high bonus. It ain't rocket science!! It's comical how important some people think they are because they're good at reading off a visual aid and delivering Starbucks!!

I also have heard this. What gives?

Because it's finally sinking in that this drug is a last resort not a front line agent. Doctors also CLEARLY realize that this drug does NOTHING better than current agents in PPMS. The trial was nonsense and the patients were in an inflammatory state. Hence why it "worked"

That being said, drug will have a successful launch, and crash and burn a few years from now when the A/E's come forward.

Best of luck selling this lightning in a bottle. It will never live up to expectations. Classic case of all hype and then reality sets in the real world.

Very true! I expect people to start jumping ship in one to two years.

Offer has been extended. Extremely disappointing. I have a feeling the company has made a very big mistake in low balling people. Many first choice candidates will turn down. Had high hopes to join the company. Offer insulting. Oh well. Time to move on, unfortunately. Good luck to everyone else.

Welcome to the fake world of corporate sales.

Companies like this one like to fool people into thinking they are the Holy Grail of outside sales jobs...when they are all full of shit like every other large corporation.

The only way you truly make "a score" in business is if you run your own.

Those that move up in corporations like this one, are the ones that are willing to become slaves to it.

F That. If you want a really good gig, then find a private company where you have a great relationship with your manager. Companies like this one are full of it, and their lies are getting exposed every day, on forums like this.

Internal offers started as early as the 12th for some internals and have been going on for the past week and a half. Don't know if any external offers have been extended.

GNE pays around $120-$135K for most CS positions and doesn't negotiate a lot from what you are currently making. Yes, maybe a bump in pay but don't expect a huge raise...ain't gonna happen. They might give some stock and a sign-on bonus as a one time thing but not huge raises for internal or external candidates.

GNE knows that the demand is high for these jobs and that they don't have to negotiate to get great reps.

Great reps don't stay... it's high school (childish politics) for those who like to work part time and earn ok money.
