DEI Hire

DEI= Didn’t Earn It.
Des actually seems like a really nice guy but the head of all of CE? Way in over his head, all we have gotten is micromanaging tactics and metric driven thinking. It’s exhausting to think about how Victor can right this ship. Many TA’s not making goal, you can’t just create every team as mass market. We aren’t selling aspirin.

Des has implemented 1980 tactics. I will see my manager for 48 field days in 2024. In what world does someone think this is normal. I have been doing this for 15 years. I never saw a manager more than 18 days a year in the field. My docs are sick of it and so am I. Very close to getting a new job can't wait to leave this shit.

If your manager was a decent person, it wouldn’t be so bad. Mine isn’t. Nothing kills my motivation like 2-3 day field rides every couple of weeks.

My manager is a good dude. I still don't want someone with me 50 days a year. No other company makes the managers ride with the reps this much. I am quitting once my crappy bonus it paid. I will shred Des in my exit interview not that they care.

I don't care is Dez is black, brown, or purple. His actions and horrible results as a leader at Novartis, GSK, and Microsoft prove that he should not be head of CE. He is a joke and was underqualified when he landed his current role. Maybe he looks smooth on stage and that is a big upgrade over Duane, but that doesn't make him good at his job. Ask the people who have worked for him. Look at all the bad hires he has made. Has Novartis made any progress in the past 3 years under his leadership, no! He is incompetent and until he is removed from his role, Novartis US will continue to suffer.
Thankfully Des is just a change agent. Novartis has hired them for as long as I’ve been here. He might have another year left if we are un-lucky. They hire these guys/gals to shake things up as if to give the investors what they want.

When all is said and done, he will leave the company, (hopefully sooner than later) and will be given accolades for what went well, but everyone will point out all the negatives that put our company in the wrong direction, and then “get back to the basics” serving our customers and their patients. We need to figure out the best way to deliver that to them (not all these silly sales effectiveness, AI, Virtual training, etc programs they want to implement)
