Dark cloud hanging over Merck Frosst or Kenilworth

Kenilworth to stage three rounds of layoffs and close site except for k15 animal research building merck sysimatically gutting schering employees in favvor of thier own. One Merck? Hardly!

And they do it so well, the press would have been all over Schering. But the little article in NJ.com boasts they are building a huge addition to the Merck Kenilworth site. Let's see, one addition and 5 building closing. Great news!

$120 million investment in R&D at Kenilworth in this economic environment is remarkable. Oh, and they mentioned that 1,500 jobs will remain. Better than canning everyone and shuttering the whole lot.

And if you're unhappy at Merck, do us all a favor and leave. I couldn't stand my last company so I left. Sometime that's the best thing to do.

Sorry, I'm not going anywhere without my severance. Then you "company folks" can get out the kneepads, stab eachother in the back and wait for your time on the Titanic. Merck is a HORRIBLE company to work for. When I started at Schering, it was a great place to work (pre-Fred). Ask any Schering employee that was here at that time. If there were any jobs out there I would have left shortly after the merger. If you like working hard everyday(trying to do the right thing) and still have a daily fear of being let go or outsourced then Merck is the place for you. Mercks motto should be "Smile and take it".

I worked for both Merck and Schering, and I must agree Schering was the better place to work for. I was a sad for when I heard on the radio, while I was still working at Schering, that Merck was taking over! Sad day, I knew things were going to get real ugly after that.
