da Vinci Xi

Way to sell all those systems LD. You talk a big game while your capital team was riding on the coat tails of Clinical. Now that you actually have to put some numbers up of your own.... you flounder. Fake, all talk, 'theorists' who pose as sales people will always get exposed. Maybe your counterpart at air seal should show you how it is done. Just saying.

Bottom line... when sales are up it is because 'of their phenomenal sales ability'. When sales are down, it is because of 'changes in the sales environment beyond their control'. Capital team, what a joke. The above post is spot on. Clinical has always been the driver.

i don't see the testing and advanced tech. as a concern as it will come in time, just a lag of a quarter or three. the pricing and margins on the new system are the question. Vs. Si. As margins get squeezed, sales reps will all get paid less. good luck.

Do the math, who is left?
someone tell me what the ASM and ASD do all day besides direct the lowly csr on what they need.
Jim, pay the csr more for each system upgrade or sale and stop this nonsense.
CSR should make a Sh_t ton more on all upgrades and systems. The blades are selling the razors buddy!

None of them - you can right now even do more with Si than Xi b/c you have VS and stapler (all of which will be different for Xi in terms of regulatory). But, it does look and feel cooler for multi-quad surgery (i.e. colorectal).

This system probably took 5 years to develop and is ignoring the demands in the marketplace (that is for a cheaper, cost-effective platform). Good luck.

I can tell you there aren't any cost effective platform in the works inhouse. Management still thinks its 2000s.

Wow...that's brutal towards LD! You must have beef against him!

That person may or may not have beef. But it's true. Talk a big game until you are met with a challenge. It is really easy to ride a wave. He playsthe political role. But is he talented? No. MT junior. Talk hypotheticals... but obviously can't move the ball.

The strategy of releasing prototypes is going to backfire on your Q2. What hospital is going to buy a robot that doesn't have all the offering of the previous version? It's missing 5mm, single site, advanced instruments. Are they going to hope for the best and wait a year or so for it to come along? And who is going to buy a robot that is going to become obsolete? No one will be buying anything. Brilliant strategy.

based on the con call it looks like they are integrating the single site robot 5mm instruments with the xi instruments so no 5mm until 2015 at the earliest. the strategy is brilliant alright

What's so brilliant? Who the hell is going to buy another 2 million dollar robot in today's market? Who is gonna switch hundreds of thousands of dollars to switch out all the back up instruments and such? Intuitive is so mismanaged its ridiculous. This stock will be sub 125 in a year.

I was being sarcastic. this company acts like they are making windows operating system. its unethical to half ass release something and then put out patches every few weeks. you are gambling with peoples lives. the xi is a classic example window vista. throwing something into the market to appear you are innovative that isn't ready for prime time. how did that work out for Microsoft? the stock will be halved this year no doubt about it.

no other medical device company's stock has dropped as a result of obamacare. why does isi get a free pass with that excuse?

Well said. I don't work for intuitive and never will. What I do know is that this company is run by a bunch if idiots. So many good reps have been run off because they couldn't meet the procedure or sales quota. Recruiters have piles of resumes and the turn and burn continues. This company has had its run and the smart investors are shorting this stock. The XI and SI was their attempt to show innovation but it was a real attempt to hide shit numbers. Didn't work!

Can't wait for Titan or any other company that can knock this ego driven company to the ground. Hospitals/administrators are begging for an alternative. I would tell Intuitive to stick the XI and SI right up their arse! I'm pushing for Titan and can't wait for them to enter the market.
