Customer Service Representative

What is this position? I was a previous employee on the Pfizer contract. My position was Professional Sales Rep. I have never heard of a Customer Service Rep. Anyone know the responsibilities and/or pay?

They do not detail or sell, they only drop samples and literature. Low base, like 35k.

"only dropping samples & literature" is any different than what a sales rep does. sorry you do much more as a "sales rep" you also bribe your way into offices with starbucks & bring take out olive gardens for the cows at feeding time. Most importantly you beg for scripts. A csa may not get paid much but it's fair for what we are expected to do. Many of us hold other jobs with commission based income so it's steady money. This is not the worst job in pharma. Have you looked recently? The worst is a sales rep job with no car or allowance, 25% travel, huge territories plus base starting at 32K. There's also the unemployment line. To answer the OP & others interested in the opening Publicis Touchpoint will not consider anyone with pharma sales experience. There is a bonus and a car allowance.

why wouldn't they consider former pharma reps who have already had successful careers and are just looking for something brainless to do to keep busy and make some extra cash?
I would think those candidates would be perfect.

I assume the base will be 35,000, plus car allowance, cell and internet reimbursement, and bonus potential. When Pfizer did a pilot of the Customer Service position through Publicis the pay was 35,000. Customer Service Associates on the AstraZeneca contract also make 35,000. It is a non sales position hence the much lower pay.

If they were successful @ getting the take out orders right & crying for scripts they wouldn't be looking for a "brainless" job.

call me when you turn 60, are a highly trained and experienced pharma pro, have acheived presidents club several times, are considered over the hill for big pharma, but too young to retire, just want to slow things down for the next few years, MAYBE you'll understand that any contract is the perfect fit at this stage of the game.

#7 you obviously know what your talking about, and you're on CP which means you must have some connection to drug rep world experience. This is exactly the kind of position I'm looking for (similar situation you describe)... so how do you get them to re-think a candidate w/ pharma sales experience?

You can have sales experience but not pharma sales exp. If they do the candidate selection process as they have done in the past a recruiter will look over your resume first. If any pharma sales exp is listed you will not be considered any further. They won’t reconsider for any reason based on the fact it is a non clinical discussion based job. IMy suggestion would be to find a sales rep job through publicis.

couldn't agree more , almost 11 years younger but I can see it in their eyes ! Include 6 years of successfull Sales mgr. $ 100 k base and all....anyway there is no greater punishment to me than to interview with some attitude loaded 30ish "me me me " chick and have to explain why Pharma and why I think I would be a good fit ! lol thank God for Jim Beam
