Current Merck Retirees

Another glorious days for the retirees to enjoy, enjoy, enjoy and be so thankful we are all retired and do not have to do the boring, repetitive, pittance jobs. It is wonderful to have been so blessed, healthy, wise and THANKFUL (our generations only).

Another glorious day to be lived and enjoyed!!! I will be doing a bit of photography this morning as the beach is gleaming as it looks like diamonds, there is a freshness in the air, so pure and clean not found anywhere else. Perhaps take a boating excursion in the afternoon. But first I will enjoy my delicious breakfast. I love my life !

The best way to spend your retirement funds is by helping those in need. To use one's money for a hedonistic life is a SIN!!! Hope y'all have fire retardant Pampers given where y'all be going in a few years!

Post #343 is a very angry guy; must be a very stressed rep. Anyway, I am far from pampers needs. I was lucky & wish enough to get out of the rat race very early and I am quite philanthropic as a matter of fact. Makes me feel good to give, however, I do enjoy my life and my freedom. I thought this was a retiree thread. I guess the reps have nothing better to do. Glad I will never have to stress about $ like they do.

Good morning to the prosperous and energetic segments of the Republic. Taxes are completed and my accountants have accomplished a superb professional conclusion to a very profitable 2014. Had many deductible items not available to the bottom feeding segments. One must take advantage of all loopholes, after all we earned the money and accumulated the wealth not them.
Sunrise is breathtaking and is very optimistic for a active social agenda for the weekend.
My breakfast is going to offer something not partaken of for many months, seal brains, a true and tasty parcel of natures bounty.
Busy Friday of business. The planning of offered opportunities is expanding and will allow accumulation of significant quantities of the old standby - money. What a lovely world.
Must go.
To the wealthy belongs the spoils.

the city of brotherly love, is a far cry from your fantansy island. should I post your name

Must not have saved as much as us if you aspire for the Carribean. We, OTOH, would prefer Hawaii, Tahiti and Bora Bora. And this is after we tithe. Cannot forget who helped get us here. ;-) And I am not Baptist.

Where are your rattlesnakes? We should be blessed if the serpent strikes. Get off our thread, we don't need pulpit thumpers!

CP: Please take down this ridiculous thread! It is populated by an old timer who types his drivel of a fantasy world everyday. Now we got some born again bashing the geezer's fantasy! This is a pharma rep site not a forum for the mentally impaired!!

What a glorious early dawn here in the warmth of my island paradise.
The lizard is beginning to consume his buggy breakfast and is enjoying his leisurely lifestyle. Meanwhile, I am faced with a very busy business schedule to end the week. Money will be made and accumulated assets enjoyed. Oh how this separates me from the sycophants of society.
Getting nearer to the Indianapolis pleasure trip and the betts that will pay for the libations and social interactions.
Action at the Club planned for Saturday in celebration of the birthday of the Polo Grounds. Island dancers will lead the festivities and I will dedicate the equestrian statue. Promises to be a very social affair!
Time to sip my hot coffee and consume papaya muffins.
To the planners and true blooded producers have a self assuming weekend.

I am now able to retire, of retirement age, financially good, not pleased with manager, but who is. I Can still see a third of custmers and somewhat enjoy it. When is the right time to go?

As long as your are finances are sound go ASAP enjoy life .I went at 60, currently 67, and we are having a ball travelling and with zero money worries. Also, make absolutely certain that you have a hobby that can keep you busy on the off times.

I would say when you no longer enjoy it. It defiantly takes the pressure off knowing you can go at any time. I just can't see doing it past 60. The money is great the job is easy but the main thing, unfortunately, is that the work has become meaningless. Didn't used to be that way, but that's irrelevant, it's not going to change, only get worse. So I can continue to feather my nest a bit, relax a bit confident I can leave at any time the management morons can longer touch me. I can do two. I sure couldn't do twenty in this screwed up industry.

We don't need y'all old timers on the force! Retire and get the hell out!! Your stink is seeping through the WEB!! Pharma is a young person's game now! Y'all can't keep up the pace and pine for the old days!!

I left at 62 and am very content and do not miss pharma one bit. It is too regimented and regulated with so much busywork and unnecessary stress and accountability. I am traveling, volunteering, taking up French, and take a few courses at my local university at a greatly reduced price for retirees. No more Sunday night angst, where will I take manager, etc. life is great and was not at Merck.

Nice adolescent rant. Pharma is actually a " no persons game." If you think it will be a " career" for you and you'll get to retire in it like we are you have sadly miscalculated. You have 5 years at most. Oh, and by the way, I'm also getting ready to start drawing your social security which is withheld from your check. How do you like that? Too bad loser.
