Culture

That is a very short sited opinion. I know of very qualified people who comment on this site. While there are people who failed in their duties at quest who comment, there are many who do their jobs well and hope for resolution by sharing these comments. If your response is one of “they are just complaining” then you are not a part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Could I please get serious answers on whether you would join this organization if you had a second chance.
What is the culture like??

Overall how would you describe leadership?

It depends on the franchise and the VP of the franchise, 50% are decent, 50% are horrific. The good old boy network does exist and unfair biases are real here.

Truer words have never been said. This thread is littered by the unqualified who feel that the answer to failure is to complain about the crown achievements of the elite ultra-successful in our great organization. Perhaps a little less time on anonymous internet message boards and more time studying the work ethics of their superiors would improve their chances for advancement. My guess though is that they’re far too lazy to put in the effort, regardless of the boundless opportunities provided by Quest Diagnostics.

Here’s the down low about Quest. They email reps new accounts periodically, if you’re a favorite. Whatever accounts you bring in are yours at “X” commission rate (now measured by bonuses since commissions are prohibited). Problem is after 1-2 years, they reduce your commission rate. After a few years, the account becomes a “house account” and what not. Only tenured reps keep their accounts.

Brutal company to work for. If you’re looking to join a lab, negotiate permanency for new accounts you bring in. None of this “house account” status after 1-2 years. It’s a scam. You’re the one being scammed as a sales rep. And despite Quest accepting every insurance, if your territory is a ghetto, a lot of that work is uninsured work, and Quest’s uninsured price list is absurd. Quest will also send their own relatives to collection. Doctors hate Quest for it. To top it off, the Quest way is not to call the rep. Call customer service. You’re a worthless number if you’re a client. Again, the Quest way.

Stay away from the lab industry. It’s a grossly underpaid industry for the work you need to put in. And companies like Quest keep all the money. Their compensation package is awful compared to other medical sales jobs. Do your homework. If you’re going to be micromanaged, harassed about meetings and treated like a nobody, might as well do it for more money and less headaches selling devices.

I noticed some people that left came back even at the PAE level. Curious how this is explained?

I agree about TC and needless to say the skillset of the folks in the vp level is very low. I was amazed at the lack of foundation at high vp roles. Overall, the corporate executives are a tight group and will hold those reigns for a long time. We have had some attrition in GMW but they hire external people old ex quest folks with low skillset to join them again.

Are some managers pragmatic about weekly call volume? For example, if I’m doing monthly expenses and theres a 3 hour gap on Friday with my sales activity bc I was doing modules or admin do they question you or micromanage you to death out of retaliation in this situation?

What does your manager do with you/monitor you for? I am used to working very independently but can be agile with a corporation because I am miserable at current gig from having 4 c-suite overseeing us all and a vp monthly territory update meeting… expected to make sales calls and attend all these meetings despite the constant last minute interruptions! If im complaining and this is the norm in medical I’ll go away.

Been this way for years and years now. Managers are more like robots than leaders.

For those who own their performance and add value at every turn, the sky is the limit.

Malingerers and whiny malcontents do not last long

Hope this helps.

The ones who leave Quest go on to bigger and better. You guys don’t pay. The entire industry knows it in 2024. It’s why your stock price is going down the toilet. Why? The entire lab game is SHOT! Insurance companies are done with labs stealing money. They’re using AI programs to filter out unnecessary testing…lol. Quest is feeling the same crunch ALL the other labs have felt over the last 10 years. And guess what? Once Quest is the only one left standing, insurance companies will pay you morons .10 for a CBC…LMAO.

Hope this helps.

Is that why the reps at Quest are leaving at their own will by the boatloads? Coincides with your new “plan” for reps in 2024, which everyone despises.

Pretty soon the average TikTokker will earn more than a Quest rep. How humiliating. Quest finds lovely ways to steal commissions and bonuses from their reps. Would you like me to post them in 2024?

Hope this helps
