Could I please get serious answers on whether you would join this organization if you had a second chance.
What is the culture like??

Overall how would you describe leadership?

My experience was that while they talk a good game, they don't always walk the walk. Would also say that in good times, they did not share the wealth and in bad times were quick to pass along the pain to the employees.
Having said that, I don't think they are any different than most other large Fortune 500 companies.

Serious cultural issues abound. Case in point: Great Midwest VP in Denver (TC) has been in this role for several years now with her leadership progressively becoming worse each year. Fails to recognize true talent and exhibits favoritism that goes beyond the unbelievable.

The culture in the East in the worst. It has been for years. Especially in Baltimore. The new ESD is nonexistent, stubborn, and ignorant. He doesn’t care about your well-being or quality of life. Not a company I would recommend.

Culture is something that needs constant focus, open communication and accountability. It takes all involved to work to continue to to move forward. I’d say it is good but still opportunity. There are some individuals who have blinders on and are unwilling to look to improve… stuck in the past. I’ve seen sales counterparts that barely work but complain constantly placing blame on everyone else. In my mind they bring us down. Luckily, several of these folks are no longer with the organization.

The only person that can bring you down is the one you see in the mirror. But keep drinking the Kool Aid.

Terrible overall culture with pockets of mediocrity.

Goals are missed 99% of the time. Employees almost never get 100% of their bonus.

leadership doesn’t understand the business. Every cent is wrung out of operations making it impossible to do quality work.

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Culture suffers because the wrong people get promoted! The ones that suck up get moved up because they play the game. Happens in Southwest region always. The just promoted an acct manager to a regional trainer position, JD was the worst person and didn’t work.. as is a ton of other folks. Mediocre reps pretend to work and get moved up! It is a joke.. the test menu is old and they always screw reps out of bonus money.

For those who own their performance and add value at every turn, the sky is the limit.

Malingerers and whiny malcontents do not last long

Hope this helps.

I agree about TC and needless to say the skillset of the folks in the vp level is very low. I was amazed at the lack of foundation at high vp roles. Overall, the corporate executives are a tight group and will hold those reigns for a long time. We have had some attrition in GMW but they hire external people old ex quest folks with low skillset to join them again.

Truer words have never been said. This thread is littered by the unqualified who feel that the answer to failure is to complain about the crown achievements of the elite ultra-successful in our great organization. Perhaps a little less time on anonymous internet message boards and more time studying the work ethics of their superiors would improve their chances for advancement. My guess though is that they’re far too lazy to put in the effort, regardless of the boundless opportunities provided by Quest Diagnostics.

Politics reigns foremost at quest. Unfortunately in the east, anyone who has to work with the PAE manager will have to deal with account stealing, defamation of character (if you are not liked), and lies leading to political demise. The people who tell the truth and want to do their job will always be stopped by politics. Sadly, quest is a good company to go to if you want to stay in your current job and can deal with endless internal roadblocks. Some management even admit you must leave quest to climb. On the positive side it’s hard to get fired, even if you don’t fully do your job.
