Culture of Fear- Avoid Working Here

I am so happy to have started working for another company and in fact had no idea how terrible I was treated until I left Forest. I was not a bottom performer and had no disciplinary problems however, I was verbally abused and sexually harrassed. I saw what happened to people who spoke up to HR for help, they got put on LOC's LOW's and were pushed out. I needed a job and a paycheck so I endured the abuse. It appears this is a nationwide problem as well because I have seen the same complaints across the country, it was like reading my own story. DO NOT WORK HERE, IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT IT. There are much better places to work in the pharma industry where you will be paid more and treated with respect. It appears upper management is running scared and managing through fear and that has trickled down to the sales force on the ground. Do yourself a favor, find another company to work for, and if you need to get a "foot" in the industry and you dont have experience, be a contract rep somewhere first. This is not the place to get your feet wet.

This post is dead on... I came to work at Forest after a downsizing at another company and could not believe how pathetic and fear based the culture was at this place. The only people that stay here and are happy are those that have never worked with another pharma company.

Dead on. I know a few different reps who complained to HR about harassment and illegal tacticts from management and before you know it, they were forced out. HR are the biggest pussies.

It's time to contact CNN, ABC, CBS! I'm sure shareholders would love to hear this news. HR are not going to do sh*t. But didn't you know you would get treated this way by the unwritten Forest handbook rules? Gals must wear tops as dresses, push up bras, no panties, jackets that look like it shrank in the washing machine.

Spot on. Happened similarly to me. Thank you God for the device job. But that was a horrible 10 years, especially the last 3. I spoke up about some of the douche bags who had been promoted. You would have thought I killed the RDs first born. He made so
many extremely horrible decisions that cost the company millions and caused dozens of good Reps. to leave or forced out. Fuck that loser who was eventually demoted. He got his but the damage was done.

It seems like the bigger ass you are at Forest the faster you move up. Demoted? I want to hear some names. This company is like high school. When you are a freshman you get treated like shit. Rather than remembering how that felt by the time you put in a few years and make it to DM the bullying cycle starts over. I have been with forest a little under 8 years. I have come to realize that want to remain in sales not because of my numbers are low but because I prefer it. I treat people fairly so I guess that means I don't have what it takes to be a trainer or a DM. The people I went to training with were once normal and nice, now they are brainwashed cult members. I think it's hilarious and a desperate cry to show how successful they are when they carry their 1 designer logo bag (which by the way has been out of fashion for close to 10 years) and flash their ghetto diamond ring. To me it's just an indication of all the favors they had to perform to get where they are.

I hate to say it but it is a culture of fear. It never used to be this way. But today it has gotten so bad that it is demotivating. I used to love this company but it has changed a lot. I happen to think that the pressure that Elane Hockberg is putting on the ABD's is filtering all the way down to the reps. I could be wrong but something has changed especially since we lost Lexapro. I understand that it was a huge thing to lose but why all the extra stress and pressure, we just expanded again... so it really makes no since unless upper mgmt has changed and changed the philosophy.
Just my 2 cents.

could not agree more. i'm also out and yes, it all started changing over the past 2-3 years. loved it here for a number of years and then it all changed. fear just became the overriding theme

Seems it is happening everywhere , market environment has changed so we push and push for more, managed care drives this industry now!

It's not happening everywhere. I work with another pharma company now and it couldn't be more different from Forest. This company has changed to adapt to the new environment. Forest is operating from a Pfizer model that worked in the eay 90's. You see this happen al the time across all industries, companies who fail to change with the times end up failing ultimately.
