Culling the herd

Agree re KG. Though its not a surprising outcome when you have EH assuming everything is a popularity contest, KG assuming its beauty contest and RT treating everything like a political campaign !!! no one in the TS group actually trying (or knowing how) to run it as a business. Roll it under IMS and give EH/KG a package

RT has done a masterful job blocking outsiders (proven entities in tech sales) from coming into this area, even on occasions when TP was recommending new leadership. But it's different this time. They can expect to have their plans & track record scrutinized as part of due diligence. IMS guys are pros and know how to market their product. And the past failures of the 3 musketeers with large clients will come back to haunt them. You can blame it on a 'difficult client' for only so long. People in this industry talk and know better.

A big problem is there have been so many cuts over the past few years many of which were stealth cuts of lower staff, that now the IT org is very top heavy. So many new VPs and Sr Dir's. You have to play the game and not lose favor.

I cant make sense of this. I know two people that left who were more capable and experienced than many who remained. How do they make these decisions?? Its probably no better in the business as they had more people chopped than IT.

In IT its all about who has ingratiated themselves with AM. RT has turned the reigns over to AM and walked away. AM doesn't tolerate anyone asking questions or expressing a different opinion. One of his directs just got shown the door for daring to do that.

There is still hiring here in 'Merica. Unfortunately it's mainly at the senior level positions. Very little movement upwards unless you can enchant AM. Then you will move from AD to Sr Dr in less than a year. But we did see some more senior people in this round so I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with several of those positions.

They'll fill them with people from GM or slimeballs like SB

Yeah and he was none too subtle about it, needed to make sure everyone knows what happens if you defy him.

I wonder how long before AM is found out. As far as his behavior, he takes his cue from RT. RT outwardly is the consummate professional articulate, informed and a marketeer. Behind closed doors he is a bully. He threatens to fire people and constantly interrupts others. He thinks he is a king. No manners

RT's at least understands the industry. AM and those he's brought in like MP dont understand and dont want to. AM just wants to run IT like they did in the dark ages, no original thought required. He's systematically getting rid of anyone who has the knowledge or audacity to question his backwards and uniformed views.

Hard to believe that SB has progressed so quickly and without building or delivering anything of real value, at least from my view. But I am hearing some of the GM folks are grumbling too. It appears AM was not exactly open an honest with them about the jobs they came in for.

Those who sell their souls to play the game are rewarded. People like MP, SB, KG wont last long in the post IMS world.

SB rode the Microsoft train and got put on a pedestal for claiming she invented o365 because RT wanted to say we're consuming cloud.

I never got that whole 365 model. It seemed like someone signed on the dotted line and said "here, take my money, take it now" when it was going to take 12 months plus to work out how it was going to be deployed properly. And then it switched to "hey, you IT guys, we're paying for this already so you better start making it work"

I don't know how we get ourselves into these situations.

Blind leading the blind.

That's right. Tons of money spent on mobile apps and still struggling to get one in use across the enterprise.

And 1M spent on the "design studio" ----ludicrous. Now that significant money has been spent maybe SB and MP will need to produce something now instead of just talking--that would be a nice change.

And yet somehow, after an 18 month period of making excuses, money wasted on unused subscriptions, a service that's worse than what we previously had, SB still managed to persuade her management team of the opposite gender that this initiative was a success :scratching head:

It can only be a matter of time until he is found out. RT was clever and cunning. A master manipulator. AM is not in the same league. He just straight out bullies people into his style of thinking. I stay as far away as possible.

You need to understand this is not about Q management for much longer. When Bousbib and his team take the helm, Q IT will turn into a clearing house from top to bottom. It may take some time but if you're smart, you will begin planning your future. Almost half the people in my team are openly discussing interviews and getting ready to make a move. That would have been unheard of three years ago.

Management and HR know about AM's bullying, discrimination and sexual harassment---they simply do not care. The BS numbers he makes up and gives TP and the board look good so everyone lets him carry on.

HR at Q is going to the dogs. I arrived around the reign of terror in the Safety space. HR wanted to do something about MV because of all the complaints. Not one or two but dozens. RT saw MV as his cash cow for the TS group. So he not only thwarted HR attempts to address the situation, he was an enabler of that style of bullying. Much to his chagrin, he was forced to make a move when TP was called by their largest customer. Only then did RT and his posse learn that they had a house of cards. Everything came crashing down and many good people paid the price for management's stupidity. Now enter AM the dinosaur. He and his 1970's style CIO management style is completely ineffective. I cannot wait to see what happens when IMS truly gets in the mix. He will be calling his contacts at the last company he mismanaged.
