I thnk his position is extreme, but I do agree with the assessment that extramarital affair are harmful. There is no denying that.

Jail time for it is a bit extreme. But, this is what people get when they turn their lives over to the government. Busy bodies always want to tell you how to live your life and if you don't they get themselves in positions of power so they can force you.

More than half of all marriages are unfaithful. 10 percent are open arrangements. 60 percent of first marriages fail (no guesses as to why). I believe it is like 70 percent of second marriages failing.

What a moronic thing to do. MJ should be legal and the government/law enforcement has no place in my bedroom activities. What about the threesomes, what about the folks who like to watch, what about the legalizing prostitution? I am horrified. This country can kiss my ass. We cannot enforce the laws we have now and now there is a thought of more invasive doctrine. Bullshit. My husband and I would divorce again just to say fuck you. Marriage is already at an all time low. . . and I do think NOT being married when you have children is wrong. Yet, more and more people are opting out of being married.

Rather than crimminalize sex (this guy must have a really small penis to want this or an ugly wife or be a closet fag), they should have debtors prisons for all you douchebags that bought shit you cannot afford and then file BK so I get to pay for it.

How you define your marriage is only the business of the two people who make the agreement and no one else.
 






Government is already in the marriage -- how many wives/husbands one can have at one time, divorce decrees are issued by government agencies, etc.

Good post. The government should not legislate morality. But I see nothing wrong with the state governments citing economic statistics in relation to amoral behavior.

Those that follow and practice social conservative avenues, lead far better economic lives...not to mention happier social lives.

This whole idea of social liberalism flies in the face of their mantra of having a "progressed" and "better" society. Statistics clearly show the opposite is true.

Liberalism==OK with broken homes...no daddy around.....no family structure...and a loveless society.

The only topic I agree with the left on regarding social advancements....the homosexual community should be able to do their thing...and the rest of us should accept that...and butt out.
 






How about if there are not children at home and both partners agree to have fun whenever or wherever? How about if one of the spouses is disabled and tells the other to meet his or her own sexual needs? How about if it is NOT an emotional affair but purely for sex? How about if both partners have AMs?

My husband and I had the phrase "keep only onto each other" removed. We don't care and what we choose to do is not the business of some government body. I do agree that if children are involved, the dynamics change to protect them. I also think the fact that 1/2 of all marriages fail and about that many admit to being unfaithful, is food for thought. In my experience, I find it is the ugly, the old/sexless or the ultra conservatives/religious that cannot fathom or tolerate unfaithfulness/swinging.
 






Affairs are hard to justify but it is the couple's business on how to handle it. But don't miss that premarital sex was part of this discussion too! So, if you are 25 and single, divorced and dating, no sex for you! With kids marrying later, this is nuts. Besides, you should test before you marry!

I doubt it is fully enforceable but there are lots of crazy laws about sex that do hurt people like kids with records for sexting.

Where do you get the stat that more than 50% of marriages are unfaithful? As far as government legislating your bedroom, that is such a throwaway line it is almost sad that people use it. There is not an aspect of your life that the government does not legislate and they always have great reasons for doing it.

Regardless of what arrangements choose for themselves, it should not change the definition of marriage.

These are not coincidences. These stem from a systematic destruction of societal norms that led to the degradation of our relationships and our country.

This is in part due to that we now have a secular society, in europe it is even worse- most young people there are opting never to get married and just live together.

If only married people can have sex legally, the amount of sex being had will slow to a trickle.

Good point GG on the numbers. Already we have half of all marriages involve an extramarital liason plus, many people have open marriages or experiences with group sex (as in threesomes, forursomes and moresomes) just to add some extra zing. It's nobody's bidness but our own - especvially if you had that phrase removed which we did too.

The evidence is clear, the further away we get from traditional ie Christian morality, the worse our society becomes. "Anything goes" is not a way to have a successful society. Individual choices add up to have societal impact.

Everybody likes sex. Everybody wants to get off, but sex is like fire. It can heat your home or burn your house down. You do have to be careful with it.
