The IMPROVE-IT study results and outcome were dismissed as a joke in the scientific community and did not result in the change of the product label. Add to it the ENHANCE fiasco which resulted in a 35 bil haircut for both Merck and Schering. To brag about this so called read out was so effective that the whole CV Group at Merck collapsed and is no more.
It is ridiculous that CG position's this as an achievement when it was a total failure.
CG u truly are a piece of work. Needless to say are not missed at Merck.

WE ARE STILL TRYING TO DETERMINE WHAT DR. CG IS POSITIONED TO DO HERE AT AMARIN. HE RARELY IS IN HQ AND AVOIDS LOOKING PEOPLE IN THE EYE. WE KNOW HE DESPISES HIS YEARS OF WORKING AT MERCK AND WE ARE NOT VERY SURE HE VALUES OUR SMALL BUSINESS CULTURE. ALL HE DOES IS COMPARE AND CONTRAST US TO MERCK. So how does John Thero not do research on this guy? Has he not been around long enough in pharma? This is a pretty big failure on his part... either that or he was stupid desperate for someone.

CG's ego is in the toilet but he knows no other company wants a looser like him. All a company has to do is Google his name and read the posts. Dr G left bodies at Merck. He should be ashamed of himself. Oh yeah, he doesn't have a conscience. Sociopaths don't. I give Dr G maybe another year at Amarin then he will be on the streets.
It is a certainty that CG is a complete asshole, and bullies his staff. He spent many years doing this at Merck and SP and was universally hated. Many of his staff resigned, complained to HR, took time off sick. What has never been made public was the suicide at work (In the Merck office) of one of his direct reports after years of his bullying - it was this which triggered his firing from MSD. By all means criticise this man, but he truly is an evil being, and avoid having any interaction with him.
