Medline and Convatec is good match. Medline drives sales, Convatec have engineering. Should be good partenership
Convatec insider here - not happening unless Medline can drive down Convatec's asking price. Convatec's FDA issue with their Flexi Seal and there's more. No need to worry about Convatec. Most of you know well that they are a mess. All or most of the best people have either fled or have been fired. No one trusts or respects the Con anymore and they are the joke of the industry. But you all know that already. Too bad as decent commodity products, although over priced.Medline and Convatec is good match. Medline drives sales, Convatec have engineering. convatec just down sized again last Friday. let go about 27 reps from CCC division as well as two or three regional sales managers. also reduced the reps bonus comp plan. some business units like ostomy only had a hand full of reps even close to making their sales numbers as all they were trying to do is collect names to submit for ostomy starter kits and getting ostomy patients from the hospitals set up to order their supplies from one of their preferred retailers. that is where they are paying them the big bucks so they were not even trying to actually sell products. many questions about what is going on there. hope they stay away from medline. my convatec ostomy rep works about 20 hours a week so we do not need help like that.

Any truth to a rumor I just heard that we are now going to partner with Convatec Ostomy in the acute side? God I hope not. Apparently we or they thought the partnership in the HOME health LTC side worked so well. My 2 Convatec Ostomy reps will not set foot in a LTC facility. We all know all they care about is driving business to 180 medical, so I can only guess if we do partner with them on the acute side, it would be to protect our own interest. Please tell me this is just a rumor and not happening. Convatec is a messy rag and so are their reps - at least the ones they managed to keep.
Interesting. Perhaps the ultimate plan is that we will learn everything we can about their ostomy business and customers, and then buy that single business unit from convatec. We could easily add that product into our bag. Nice fit and no need to keep their people. That would make sense.
So we can discontinue Aquacel AG and replace with Maxsorb AG. This way more CEOs will be forced into buying our knock-offs. After that, we will all be fired. Our wound care products suck & everyone knows it! Anyone else feel this way?
